Kiasucy:Scout 1, it is a hike and exploration activity.sunj1252:My son just told me he will join the scout badge exploration tomorrow until Sunday. I feel very strange why there is no official notice to parents for such activity because I believe there are certain risks need both these young bodys and us - parents to consider. I refused his request. I think we should be informed officially for such out door overnight activity in advance since these boys are immaturity. Am I right?
is this for scout 1 or 2 ? pm u.

Sunj1252.. Is you DS back from the Scouts Camp? Did he enjoy himself? Btw, where is Big Sister Island? Is it St. John's Island, or Kusu Island?KSmom8:
DS will have an 01 Sourts orientation camp at Big Sister's Island this Friday. Anyone know this Big Sister's Island? We are worrying about the safety issues.
I think the boys will be fine. Hope they enjoy themselves.
I'm learning to let go.... And not worry so much, a least not in front of DS.
KSmon8.. Yes, you must learn to let go.. I am learning to do so too, slowly but surely, though still quite reluctantly.. Haha!
Just share with you. DS came back on Saturday afternoon, so tired because they were arranged for on watching for those monkeys
, his shift is 2am to 5 am. So sleep insufficient. Normally he would sleep more and wake up very late on Saturday for making up the lost sleep time in weekdays.
When he came back home, after shower he slept until Sunday morning.
The camp is fun definitely. :rahrah: -

Hi sunj1252 & firefly
Can share your ds experience in Scouts so far and whether you would encourage anyone to join this CCA ? My ds going to RI next year and he may join Scouts.. am concerned if this CCA will take up a lot of his time and how many camps in a year ?
Because my ds does not have specificial sports, art or music gift, he joined 01 Scouts uniform group. Every Monday and Wendesday afternoon from 3.30pm to 6.45pm, sometimes activity on Saturday. They were asked to join several school camps for 3 - 5 days. There are a total of 3 major school camps, one for each school holiday. In this CCA, the boys have more physical training and learn outdoor skills.
Thanks sunj1252 for the info. Do they have to do jobweek & is it during the sch hols also ? For the camps, are they all compulsory ? 5 days camp is a long time ! I hope the trainings will not be too strenuous for them !
In my mind they were arranged two days' Jobweek on weekend, to clean hourse for residents and collect some money. The Scouts camps are compulsory if no acceptable reason. Every boy has a record for accumulate activity hours for each year. A minmum hours must reach. The camps makes the boys more independent. -
