I got my mini Toshiba table top dishwasher for 1.5 months now. 1 year warranty and had it sent back for repair during that time at least 4 times. First, was leaking problem. The other 3 times, was error during wash.


Every weekday, I uses it 2 or 3 times. Weekend, only once a day.

Toshiba sg maintenance guys are great in response, but the product is not.

Now no warranty but still getting error.

My first washing machine was a top load Hitachi brand, lasted 10 yrs before it went died. Never need to call for maintenance.


For second WM, hubby wanted front load to save water consumption. Got Bosch. Now in 5th year. During warranty period, maintenance came twice to fix WM, it could not start. After warranty, guy came 3rd time and had to change the vibrator, cost us $250. Atas brand with lousy quality parts.

Are there any recommended assessment books to work on the 4 english papers?

Thank you chenlaoshi, I was not aware of the 3 types of lessons in his chinese textbook. As compared to other subjects, there are no past year papers to practice with. And the number of chinese assessment books at bookstore are limited too. I am currently using 强化练习. Are there more others you can recommend to get?

Don't mention it, sunnyjenny. There's a brief introduction regarding these 3 types of lesson at the front of the textbook (at the preface, before contents page) and at the type of lesson is also listed at bottom left/right hand corner of each page next to the page number.

This time in sec sch, I found out that not all the chapters are taught and will not be tested in exams either. Maybe only 50% of textbook chapters are covered and tested. I am rather concern with his teacher's decision on this. If all his sec sch chinese teacher makes the same choice, he will only know 50% of his chinese textbook by O levels.

I'm afraid you will realise this is the way things will continue through the subsequent levels, sunnyjenny.

The 3 lessons in each chapter are 讲读课，导读课 and 自读课。As the name suggests, teachers normally skip 自读课 in class and leave it to the students to do self directed learning. The contents in 自读课 are partially reviewed in the 活动本。

O'Level is different from PSLE in the sense that words and phrases tested in PSLE's 语文应用 section is within syllabus scope but O'Level is not. You will notice that the syllabus 词语 (colored words in the passages) in each lesson of the Sec sch textbook is not extensive too. It is therefore necessary to read beyond the textbook. Exposure to more passages through cloze passage and comprehension practices is a good start.

Anyone know of a good assessment book on chinese classifier? And chinese model compositions for P2?

Just curious how parents/tutor/educators teach creative writing to their students. When it comes to planning the composition outline, I will asked my child (P2 this year) to write in complete sentence his planning process.


For example, introduction paragraph always must have character’s name, venue and time. If picture shows a classroom setting, the sentence could be:
Penny is waiting for her English teacher, Mrs Lim, in her classroom. A group of students were busy chatting one of the girl’s new mobile phone. Another group of students are reading quietly at their desk.

Since I thought my child to write out complete sentence for all the 4 pictures provided, I am wondering whether any ‘planning paper’ were provided during the actual exam/test. It seems like this was not the case. If so, does the students need to plan the whole story writing in their head?
