RE: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls
Jerseyiv… I believe PV selection doesn’t base on distance, it’s based on what you can offer to the school… it’s also a little luck involved cos the type of help they need might change every year… if one PV gets in easily with perhaps some special skills and services they are looking for… but that doesn’t mean it would be easier to enter for another PV with the same skills… eg. if this year they need those with IT web experience to assist with their web, doesn’t mean they will need PV with that same skill the following year… good luck!

RE: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls
Was told 1 seat left for those 1-2km applicants to ballot… feel sorry for them cos some non-dragon year kids 1-2km no need to ballot and all got in…

RE: Ngee Ann Primary
Looking at the stats now, likely balloting is required for phase 2C, cos due to high birth rate for dragon year 2012…

RE: St Stephen's
Happened to chance upon here cos a relative is applying to this school for their boy… Sorry don’t mean to be a busybody here and dash anyone’s hopes… I had my regrets for sending my girl to a school further away from my house. Even though we drive her to school, but still it has been a constant struggle especially after school…
A lot of parents are unaware that during days when they have to stay back for extra classes and cca, there’s no school bus avail. and that’s when we can’t work in peace as parents and start to worry etc. FYI… in spore, for kids staying further, the bus would have to pick them up as early as 6pm, that means 5:30am kids would have to wake up… if possible I would suggest go to nearby school… Good luck! -
RE: 2017 Secondary School Selection for 2018
Park yuni and titank… chance upon this and I think there’s miscommunication… paya lebar methodist girls school 216 cut off points appeal is for affiliated primary school girls… for non-affiliated primary schools to enter, it has always been quite high above, previously as high as 250, I saw somewhere for 2018 the cut off points to enter is 247 : )

RE: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls
Blissedsher, not surprised to know top class usually has more homework due to school’s high expectation but I believe it’s not the case for the rest of the classes (not uncommon in all schools though not just plmgs). So I would say majority of the other classes’ homework in PL is still manageable; at least my girl still has time to play slime in the afternoon (I think she’s in top 2 class) : )

RE: Paya Lebar Methodist Girls
Lushlush don’t worry too much about PL moving or not cos it may not even happen; reno/upgrade is always ongoing for most schools : ) Actually people are more worried if they can get in.
Don’t worry, my girl’s primary 4 homework is still manageable cos this is not some schools which focus mainly on academics and psle results. PL is a very ‘balanced’ school as mentioned before and they also focus on values and character too. For the christians’ parents here, you will be glad to know that once a week there’s 1 period scheduled for christian devos and worship singing. Good luck to those hoping to get their girls in : )
