teacher mother:Where did you get this book from and is it expensive? Does it talk about HCI? My son really wants to go there but his results for everything except Chinese are not too great.
seems super informative. very detailed plus analysis of each school for parents but for now, i just went straight to the schools i am interested in. learning a lot about the schools. i think based on the book, i won't do RV for my daughter cos there is no bicultural studies programme. without considering the bicultural part, NJC looks interesting to me now if NYGH proves too tough.
i think the sections on GAT, personal statement coaching and samples, interview structures are the ones i am most interested in for my p5 child cos i had a bad blur experience last yr for my older child. haven't finished reading though. just got it.
the writer's background is in English, Education and Law. so i am hoping that i can trust the personal statement and interview part

teacher mother:
Thank you for your information. I will look out for such competitions for him to join. I really hope for hci, but know that it may not be possible because his math is band 2 only.super clueless:
my child is in primary 5 now and i am really clueless what to do for dsa. some parents tell me to come here to find out more now. should i be panicking that he did not do very well in his mid year? except his chinese. must he join many chinese competitions to qualify for dsaing with chinese? thank you in advance for your help
i think the first thing you must do is make sure that one of the schools you choose is a SAP school like Dunman High, River Valley High etc. if Chinese is his strength. the Academic DSA route is specifically for students who excel in one area of the academics. when i was attempting to fill the form for NYGH, they did ask for competitions etc. so i think that competitions definitely will help especially for popular schools. -
