I beg to differ regarding the Homework Policy. I quite like the \"no homework policy\" as the school already have tonnes of homework to finish. In any case, my kids still bring back some homework to do when he cannot finish the work in class. But not because all the time used in class is for homework as I do check with him on what is being done in class.
The fewer worksheets can be due to the more detailed teaching in classes especially when the teachers are now using technology to teach - the E-study Buddy . I personally log in to check on the e- worksheets and find them interactive and useful for make up lessons and catch up.
But then, this is just my personal opinion. For the interest of all, the Finnish students have a successful model of Academic Success without homework, See links below.

Actually, it all depends on what you are looking for. For Science, I find Mind Stretcher notes useful for revision. In fact, I pass my daughter’s Science notes to my nephew and they find it very useful for revision and as guides and extra materials for teaching at home.
Recently they even have Hands-On Experiments for Mathematics, similar to what is being done in schools. My boy came back to say he enjoys the lessons and learn something different from the teachers today. -
RE: Mindstretcher - Discussion
I think having notes and purchased notes over for self studying is quite pointless. At the end of the day, nothing beats a good teacher who is able to pin point the mistakes that a child makes and teaching him/her how to avoid such mistakes in future.

Wow. SO many people asking for new notes from MS. Can the notes works for self study or need a teacher to go through?

RE: Mindstretcher - Discussion
Heard that MS has a revolutionary learning system. Ebuddy or something? Anyone know anything? I am new to this group. Apparently teachers are using it in class to teach on SMART Board.
Any review or feedback? -

Hi Sky Mine Crafter
Thanks for the advice. There was a Secondary Trial classes in MS Clementi and MS Tampines this week. Heard from my contacts that it is a full 2 hours run. Anyone know when is the next run or are they conducting again in their coming Open Houses. Unfortunately, my ds missed it. Too lazy after PSLE : <
Interesting concept for an enrichment centre to have an Open House. I only heard about Open houses for big schools.
