Thanks
When did your girl take the swimsafer test?the swrial number only came in lately (frm late 2013) onwards..i highly doubt there are fake swimsafer certs out there
Reference to the 30th JIC , runner up was CSC, Chinese Swimming Club and the good news is that effective Jan 2015, they hv now engage David Lim the head coach of SAC as their new Technical Director
Iām sure they re very happy to hv him on board to revamp their whole training program, etc , sharing the same vision as them, to train our own local swimmers to be world class swimmers of this generation.
This was reported in the ST yesterday
Congrats to David!!!
swimironkids:[/quote]Confused not...wait and see this year' meet......focus is now change IMO......last JIC in Nov was csc 866, sf 847!TravelMummy:
My impression is that SwimFast may be better for the older kids than younger ones? For the younger age groups, it has been CSC sweeping the top spot, year after year, no? And comments from other parents in this forum that it sometimes is too crowded at Swimfast. I am a little confused.
Unless u have a fat wallet to join csc for a 5 figure membership plus a monthly sub fee of $70... I not sure of the monthly fee.....
SF is only 3 figure one time payment to train.....
If over crowded at sf only speaks of one thing...just like a long Q at one of the stall at the hawker centre..hehe :xedfingers:
TTBCOOL:Need advice on which is the best martial arts (not too violent and can be used for self-defence) to learn for a teenage girl ? TIA.
junemom:My son is with Evolve and yes having the best instrutors is not cheap. He started with Karate which I know is more tougher than TKD as one is train to take blows at the abdominal n body area . u can watch that in utube ......now it's the mixed martial arts that re proven to be more effective in self defense cos whn u re on your 2 feet its Muay Thai, boxing , karate...when you re on the ground its Bjj, judo or akido...my 2ctsesmummy:I think for adults who can travel independently to class, evolve is great if you can afford the fees and time to go for more than 3 classes a week. But if it's for kids classes you are after, evolve has limited slots and they are crowded. That said, evolve has produced one of the best kid mma fighters who competes internationally. Evolve is very swanky; it's like martial arts' answer to true yoga and California fitness. Thankfully they do free trials so you can decide if the \"investment\" (in their own words) is really worth your while..:)
I totally agree with you esmummy. I think Evolve is no doubt one of the best but the fees and schedule for kids is not ideal. It's targeted more to working adults, who can arrange their time flexibility.
Anyway, I wasn't too impress with the attitude of one of the staff (not the coaches)

nicnac:Hi all, pyjamas is not allowedMy dc wore pyjamas for Gold Test today, the same set she wore for her silver test.heyhoe:Hi,
May I know what type of clothing to wear for swimming test - silver? I was told to get my child wear long sleeve shirt and pant. However, I find it too heavy. What kind of material should I look for and most of all, where to buy?
I was also told pyjamas are not allowed. Thanks
