Hi, can anyone share about the travel time to CGS if coming from Sembawang/Admiralty area. Some parents I read from other sites shared that those coming from North area finds it easier to travel to orchard MRT then take bus 111. How is it like during morning travel? I also understand that CGS has girls staying in all over of Singapore, North, east, south and west 😅

The girls are willing to travel cos they love going to sch it seems. Any feedback please?

My daughter was shortlisted and eventually selected to be in her sch Netball CCA when she was in P2. She has since joined Netball CCA. We have also signed her up for Singapore Netball Academy just to give her a platform to play and train with girls from other schools.
Any parents with daughters that went thru DSA netball in 2020? I am wondering if any girls were successfully selected for DSA Netball amidst this pandemic.

Before Covid-19, student-athletes would attend in-person selection trials with other applicants at the schools.

But the coronavirus outbreak has seen this year's DSA exercise move online, with the Ministry of Education announcing in May that schools will not hold physical trials or face-to-face interviews as part of their selection process to ensure that there is no inter-mingling of students across schools. Online interviews will be conducted with applicants instead.

Netball coach Justin Teh gets applicants to demonstrate certain movements through shuttle runs, vertical jumps, single leg hops and ball handling exercises.

Hi.
Can I find out from experienced DSA parents the timeline for DSA results. I understand that if successful we will then be given an option to accept the school or not, in an event when we have accepted the school then when PSLE results is out and our child is eligible for IP and our child is keen to take up the IP route, we are not able to reject the DSA school right? This is to say that the DSA sch does not have the dual track Express and IP. Kindly share your experience and advice. Thanks in advance.

Schedule of events (approx):

May-June : Application
June-Aug : Auditions/ Trials/ Interviews
Sep : Offer from school (Waitlist/ Confirmed) or Rejected
Oct : PSLE
End Oct : Decide if you want to accept any CO or WL offer

If you accept the CO, then it's a done deal at this time. Will get into the school as long as meet the minimum criteria of meeting the express stream mark for Express or IP.

If you accept the WL, then it's another waiting game till the release of PSLE results in Nov.

Nov : Release of PSLE results together with school allocation.
- if you have accepted the CO, that school will be allocated
- if you accepted the WL, and the school accepts you, then it will be allocated to you
- if you accepted the WL but rejected by the school, then you will just go thru the Sec 1 posting process

Most impt: if you accepted the CO or WL (and the school subsequently accepts your WL in Nov), you cannot reject it anymore or choose to use your PSLE results to try to apply to another school.

Appreciate the timeline guide. It gave me a better understanding to the whole 'Confirmed' and 'Waitlist'
As much as many parents casual remarks such as 'DSA lesser headache' it does takes time and need to thoroughly plan before making a decision too.
I will need to seat with my DD to find out what she truly wants cos at the end of it all she is the one attending the sch.
