I don't understand the perception that third language is less important than other subjects. Like some have mentioned, the grade can/must be counted and has the same weightage as other subjects. Some students even continue until JC and choose it as one of their H2 subjects, and the A Level grade received is obviously equally important as the other H2 subjects.
As long as children are able to cope and have an interest, they should be encouraged to learn. There are numerous benefits to learning a new language (try Google).
