      Hello there,

I am mummy staying ard Blk 30+ too. I do share your views on Student Care / Childcare centers.

Another alternative way is to feedback this to our MPs. (Mr Lim SS). he will help. I hope all mummies within our area can work together for better place for our kids. Which means better Kindergartens , more childcares / Student care centers. Esp within the school....

      Do you agree? 😄 😄

Wonder if mycs check out on those childcare that claims to provide student care service.
      Hi All,

I am a working mum with my girl is in P1 in Bedok Green Primary School this year. The school itself does not have any inhouse student care service. Therefore i had to place her in the student care near my house which is about 2 main road away from the school (at blk 125 bedok north road).

Currently, she was being chartered to the student care after school dismissed.

I prefer the student care service in the school itself as they will be able to go straight to the student care in case they need to stay back in the school for extra lesson after normal lesson. I will not need to worry about her having to make her own way to the student care.

I had sent email to the principle to check if there is any possibility of setting up a student care service but she replied tat the school does have any spare facilities to do so.

Emails had also been sent to MYCS asking if there are plans of setting up a student care centre near the school. (maybe ard blk 30+), and response = no. Instead they pointed me to the alternative childcare which supposed to provide student care service.

Blk 24 YWCA - which is 2 street away
Blk 64 Honey Tree CC - which does not have the manpower and space to do so, although they intend to do so.

Wonder if there are any parents having the same problem as me?

    • RE: To hire FDW or not to hire

I am afraid, only applies to Indon maids. I wonder why. But for local small family like me, I will still prefer Indon maids. Many agencies says Filipinos will eventually request for off days and handphone. It is definately a no-no for me coz my girl is only 2YO. I need a really discipline maid at home to watch over my girl. No gaurantee on well-trained maid, but I only pray hard she wont hurt my girl…

      MMM:
      YOUNG MOM:

have the intention of hiring filipino maid directly from Philippines. But worry that if i dont go thru agent, and if any problems, i will got to settle myself. I cant send the maid to agent to settle. But on the other hand, i dont wish to hire FDW as it will be problematic to get one if she is not ok. And dont wish the agent to earn the extra S$1000+ on the agency fees. But worry i cant cope with my newborn coming Nov. Who can i rely on other than maid especially i need some one at home at night. Any people got suggestion on nanny but overnite too. I have no family members nearby that could help....

The high agency fees seems to only apply to Indo maids????

My sil is getting her filippino maid and she told me the fee is less than $200 while we have to pay $1k+ for Indo.

I just managed to hire a new Indon maid. Fees are sky high nowadays. Headache. We have to pay agency fees upfront and thank god i found this agency who allows credit card monthly installment to repay the maid's loan. Else we would have big problem. 😢
