    • RE: ACS(I) or SJI?

      Busybugz73:
That's an encouraging view of the school, TAT. Any idea when is the open house for SJI this year? I've checked their website but haven't seen the date yet.

Sorry...I can't seem to find that info either. Bear in mind that even if you miss out on the Open House, there's an information talk after your child receives his PSLE results. That's the only one we attended.

The only thing I didn't like about the school is the limited CCAs on offer. They believe in preparing the boys for the army so there's not much focus on softer, Arts-based CCAs, which my boy would have loved. He ended up choosing a sports CCA even though he doesn't like sports. LOL

    • RE: All about FUN & *FREE* places to go in Singapore

This is not really free but brings us much joy throughout the year. We buy the family cable car pass for about $120 per year per family. And we visit Sentosa a lot via cable car which also allows us to use the cable cars on the island itself. There are lots of free things to do on Sentosa. The beaches are our favourite.

    • RE: All About Party Packs, Decorations and Stuff

For our daughter’s party this year, we bought plain transparent goody bags from Daiso. She will be decorating the goody bags herself with her own designs, using Sharpie markers. It’s a lovely personal touch.

    • RE: P1 Tution -- Necessary?

My opinion: Give tuition only if your child is failing badly at this stage. They are just in P1. They will catch up. My daughter has tuition only in Mandarin as we are a solely-English-speaking family.
