RE: Q&A - PSLE Science
Sample of my concept map
https://postimg.cc/Lq2bxLXj
Above is part of the MindMap I have done on Air and Respiratory system
The Mindmap allows the student to visualise the whole topics and also how one concept is link to another concept.
This have a few advantage over just reading from guidebook
1) MORE EFFECTIVE REVISION Find out the CONCEPTS THEY MAY HAVE MISS OUT/ WEAKER IN
It help the student have a quick view of the topic. If there is any concepts that dont ring a bell they can immediately find the notes on these concepts to revise
2)REMEMBER THE CONCEPTS
With a colourful mindmap, it will help students visiualise the topics.
It also allows the student to have better overall view of the topic
3)GREAT HELP IN ANSWERING OPEN ENDED
Time and time again students WRITE A LOT in open ended question just to get a ZERO.
One reason is they write WHAT COMES TO THEIR MIND. (Not what the question want)
Why, because they forget there are some concepts that is in the topic.
One example is the topic on FORCES where the question want answer base on effects of forces. A lot of students are so use to using Friction and other types of forces that even though they write a lot it is out of point
They should instead give answer from the concept of EFFECTS OF FORCES. i.e. force can change DIRECTION OF MOVING OBJECT.
Do visit my webpage often as I will update on how to answer Open Ended question in the next 2 weeks

RE: P5 Science & Maths a big change
There is this problem that there are so much to revise for Science.
I do agree that it is very true as I am doing the mindmap for all the science topics for PSLSE Science currently. However I will have to admit that the amount of information for the 2019/2020 syllabus is less than previous years.
I have decided to compile mindmaps for the upper block in 2020 as I know that due to Covid19, there will be reduced in classes. I have make these mindmap to assist PSLE students to REVISE EFFECTIVELY as these can ACT AS REVISION NOTES.

RE: P5 Science & Maths a big change
For Science there is a great difference between P4 to P5 in several areas
This is due to the fact that P5 is to prepare them for P6 which is the PSLE year.
The MCQ questions are mostly application of their knowledge and most questions require analysing instead of just choosing direct answer.
Moreover there are more open ended questions.
Therefore the many students struggle. In order to apply their knowledge in open ended, they will have to
1.UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS.
2. REMEMBER THE CONCEPTS.
3. UNDERSTAND WHAT THE QUESTION REQUIRES
4. USE THE CORRECT KEYWORDS TO ANSWER and the keywords must be from the TOPIC THE QUESTION REQUIRE
I have a FREE WEBSITE that provide Mindmaps (concept maps) to HELP STUDENTS with REMEMBERING CONCEPTS and UNDERSTANDING CONCEPTS. This i according to the latest PSLE syllabus. Also do check back the website as I will have more MINDMAP every week until september/ october period
