      JonC,

Please do not take it too personal. It is really not the issue of Singapore PR. Think twice before you condemn about others.
It is really a blessing that you have been a 100% happy parent in CHS.
Hope CHS has more parents like you so the principle and teachers will be just as happy as you!!

      Just my own view:

Cheers to CHS…there are so many supportive parents in this forum.
Those of you who said that it may not be possible that the enrichment classes held during school time, I think you have forgotten that when your DS was in P1 and P2, all the enrichment classes are held during their class time. For example, Chinese & English speech and drama class, vocal training during music lessons and even gymnastic during PE lessons…
So, please spare a thought for this new parents as they may not be familiar with Singapore’s school. I don’t think they meant to complaint but just to voice out their doubt to the neighbour.
Personally I feel that 300 bucks is quite a lot to pay for enrichment classes, even if we are Singaporean who can use edusave to pay for the fees.
There are many families who not only have 1 or 2 children but think for those who have 3 or 4 children. It will add up a hefty sum if all of them are studying in CHS. I am sure there are many others schools which also have the same programs as CHS, therefore, it will just take a little more time and understanding for this Indonesian parents to get used to CHS.
There are many more to come which involved $ in CHS. I am sure they will get use to it after a few years in CHS.
The suggestions of withdrawing their child from CHS is really ridiculous, ask yourself, would you withdraw your DS from CHS just because you do not agree with such trivial matter??
When I am around the school, I heard so many parents complaining about CCAs policy, teachers, the principle, even the toilets…I doubt you have never complaint about the school before? Why didn’t you withdraw your DS then?
In all, I don’t think this Indonesian parents are out to complaint about PR not getting the same benefits as Singaporean. They were just puzzled by why they should pay high fees for enrichment classes which held during school time.
I personally feels that it is not an issue of PR Vs Singaporean…
