Any reviews on TWC Writing prog for p3-4? Suitable for averge standard? Heard that the vocab (which they give as hmwork to learn the spelling/meaning) is rather advanced. Isit so?

It seems popular but saw many pple trying to form a grp of min 4pax to start a class. Does it mean the take-up rate is low? (Just wondering..)

Our students come from various abilities and academic backgrounds, but they are all able to achieve visible improvements with our individualised feedback and guidance (some even jumping from borderline grades to A's!).

Students in our Writing Enrichment programme learn vocabulary through the context of our in-class comprehension passages. They are subsequently tested on their spelling and application in the following week. The words we have shortlisted for the students are vocabulary which they can masterfully use in their writing to boost their compositions with practice and guidance from our teachers. We do not believe in providing students with bombastic vocabulary that may sound unnatural in their writing.

As many of our current classes have been fully booked, we can open new classes at parents' preferred timings with 4 or more students, subject to availability. We also have listed tentative timings available for 2018. In this case, we will open the class when there are enough interests for the same timing. Hi, I just enquired on TWC in Jurong East. Was shock the fees is so exp.. appropriate $70 per lesson and we are also required to pay an admin charge every term. Is this the market rate for creative writing class? Anyone had expce with JE branch ? Can share yr expce ? I m looking at p2 write away program for next year. The Write Away programme is a 5-day programme that we typically run during the school holidays. This highly effective, fun, and hands-on 5-day writing course introduces students to the fundamental concepts and principles of creative writing. Students will learn the key strategies and techniques to write with excellence.

We also have a regular writing programme that runs throughout the year called the Writing Enrichment programme. The course fees for this programme are currently fixed at $60 for a weekday class and $65 for a weekend class.

One of the main selling points of this programme is that students will receive specific and personalised feedback on the first drafts of their writing pieces. This feedback is very detailed and solution-oriented, providing specific methods to resolve each problem using an encouraging tone to ensure the learner remains motivated. I have managed to find out on its coverage.

- The term class will focus on Essay Writing and Comprehension techniques
- There is word quiz every week to improve on spelling and building up vocab.

Was informed there is essay writing every week. Students will learn the writing techniques and there is 30mins uninterrupted time to do the essay. Required to do draft 2.

BUT the staff did not answered my question as in are there weekly open ended comprehension?

Yes, there is a weekly open-ended journal for your child. Allow me to explain Draft 1, Draft 2 and Journal Writing in details:

Draft 1:
Students have to write Draft 1 within 30 minutes in class. This allows us to observe how students tackle a writing task and bridge their learning needs accordingly. Meticulously marked work will be returned the following week so that they can produce Draft 2 by constructively taking in their teacher’s comments.

Draft 2:
Draft 2 allows students to reflect on the teacher’s comments and their own writing process, so this is the most important piece of homework for them to complete.

Journal Writing:
This is to encourage our students to form their own views and opinions. Frequent writing can also develop the writer’s voice. Teachers will not correct this piece of work but respond to the ideas therein.
