RE: Q&A - PSLE English
ET-PH:
Hi ET-PH, I feel the second answer is better as you must inform about subject first. So its 'John' before 'it'. :imcool:Hi, I have another question on S&T (from Hokkien Prelim 2011), should we use
\"Much to his displeasure, John found out that he was disqualified from the contest\"
Or
\"Much to John's displeasure, he found out that he was disqualified from the contest\" -

Well, I have learnt this in school before. The first question's answer is 'caning' because a verb has to be used at the point to match the sentence. This is very alike to Synthesis.Moderator's Note: Please use this thread to ask for help on specific questions. Please refrain from out of topic chatter in this thread to make it easier for the community to find the answers they need.
Thank you for your help.
1)Since the pupils are getting more defiant, the discipline mistress has no choice but to resort to CANE OR CANING them.
Is the answer cane or caning? Why?
2)That girl goes to the same school as _____.
Is it I or me? Why?
For the second question, the answer is 'me'. Why? 'The girl' is a distractor. She goes to the same school as I. This is not plausible without a do behind the I, so its wrong and 'me' is correct.
Just views from me cos I've learnt this before... :? -
