I'm surprised that you have probably never had experienced with vomitting at the smell of your own diaherra when what comes are is air (that kind of vomit... that i'm referring to)

Report to MOE, they will forward the case back to the school to investigate. You think the parents in the school has not tried? And to clarify, I have nothing against special needs student to be in mainstream. I do not think the child is a special needs student, but seems like you are suggesting it. Are you a psychologist who can diagnose special needs based on an account without even observing child?

Thanks for forwarding the post to the school. A parent told me she is still waiting for the school reply on her queries on the standard protocol to handle such situation.

From time to time, I see these virulent attacks on neighbourhood primary schools.

When you say kids were \"vomiting,\" who cleaned up the pools of vomit?

Are you aware that mainstream schools occasionally take in autistic children, or ones with behavioural or home problems? Instead of mainstream schools, where should such children go, in your view?

Are you aware that if this were true, you can report it to MOE and launch an investigation?

Alternatively, if someone forwarded your post to the school, the school could investigate your post and have you POFMA'd if it were false?

I am forwarding your post to the school.

I see. Sorry I didnt see the full picture. I thought the child was simply too mortified or didnt know what to do. A solution in such situation could be for any of the teachers who smelt it or knew about it to gently escort him out to get a change of clothes (or to call his parent, if he couldnt manage to clean himself up). It now looks like the teachers did not handle it well.
no worries, i understand. I couldn't believe my ears when i heard from my child as well. And the account from the teacher kind of differ from what my child told me. So we verified with other parents who asked their children separately. the kids accounts of events coincide.

I probably didn't make myself clear, the recent incident happens sometime in April this year. And to be fair to the teacher, she did not turn down request to the toilet. In fact, minutes before the incident, she asked the class who wanted to go toilet before she begins the school day. A few kids did but not the child who has the bowel control incidents.

I don't understand what do you mean by the kid offering assistance to the child? To bring the child to the GO and change for the child? Most BTPS kids are always eager to help their classmates in trouble. But this incident is beyond them, they are all just kids not nursing trained. As adults, we also could vomit at our own diaherra. The kids did inform the teacher and urge her to do something but they are reprimanded to hush. Towards recess time, the teacher told the child to go to change himself but the child refused again. She could have called the child's mother who is a stay home mother with a helper. None of the kids dare to raise the issue to the teacher taking the next period, to avoid being labelled as heartless. The child who poops is also one who is prone to violence, and after he hits another child, his parents will maligned the victim and threaten the victim. All these have been reported to the school by kids who rescued the victim and the victim him/herself, but the school has not responded to the matter. So, when subsequent events happen, its quite natural that the kids learn to 'protect' themselves through avoidance.

Yes, we all agree that the child is also suffering in soiled clothing. Worse thing is as the child moves from classroom to classroom for mother tongue class and maths class, he/she sat on another child's seat who will subsequent returned to the seat. The child also brought the poop stain to the air-conditioned school bus. Parents did write in to the school to express concern over the well being of the child and his class, and query about the school standard protocol for such incidents may be inevitable, there is no response from the school.

On and all, we are disappointed that the school is unable to provide not just a safe environment for the kids to grow up but it also failed upkeeping basic hygiene.

It is understandable if bladder/bowel control accidents happen, especially if their request to visit the toilet during lessons is turned down.

Was there no kind soul (child or teacher) to offer to bring the child to the general office to request a fresh change of clothes? How did the poor child get thru recess? Would have been a horrible experience for him/her too.
I was at Wilkie today as well, and yes no sign of any works done. I'm wondering if they can really meet the Dec 2023 timeline to move back.. Does anyone have any info?
The school is following up very closely and there shouldn't be an issue. What they will be doing is to renovate the existing blocks and facilities, and to build a new block. But even if the move cannot be on-time, SMPS is a school that all the little girls look forward to go to every morning and a school they miss deeply during the holidays. That's make it all worth the travel.

And the most recent incident, a P4 boy soiled himself and his poo stains are all over his pants and t-shirt and the chair. The kids informed the teacher but was reprimanded as being heartless. The boy sat on his poo in the classroom from as early as 8am until school dismissal. The other kids vomit at the stink but were left to endure for the entire 5 hours.

Upon question from the parents, the teacher claimed she didn't know about it. As the kids all testified that they did inform the teacher and got reprimanded instead, the teacher changed her words to say she thought its is fertiliser smell from the window when there is apparently no planting and the smell comes from the middle of the classroom. She clarified that she told the kids to have a bigger heart while the kids are certain that her exact words are \"have a heart\" not a bigger heart.

Anyway, happy to hear that your child has safely graduated from BTPS and is now in a much better schools. Many of us here are waiting for the day.

Keeping the parents out of things was in 6 years essentially what they always did.

As for example with bullying cases, they care more for the culprit and less for the victim. I heard this: Oh, these parents are a little overly sensitive. Of course there are overly sensitive parents. However, a school still has to handle this professionally. In the beginning I tried to communicate with them. But I learned pretty quickly to better shut up, or there may be recursions.

Many times things would have been half has bad, if they put bad cases up for discussion with all involved parties, openly. I thought times are over when we sweep things under the carpet. Also, the school was missing out on opportunities, for example teaching all children a lesson. For example what was said to my son's class when the compass incident happened: \"Don't talk about it, don't say at home.\" I see it as leaving the kids alone with a psychologically negative experience at a young age. Wouldn't it be the parents the first to talk with for a child?

What my son did was probably instinctively the right thing to do, keeping emotionally distant from the school and everything.

He is now at a school where (so far) the teachers care. It is stark difference to before in terms of quality communication, and teaching style as well.

Exactly one of the reasons why I am glad we are away from this environment. Stealing the wallets from several class-mates out of the school bag and of parallel classes, someone lifting-up both legs of a kid and this resulting this boy then falling flat on his face, P6 children pestering and ridiculing P1, P2 or P3 in the bus, and several more. The worst was a kid punching a compass into the head of the other one. Shocking is also the cold heartedness of many of these \"actions\". And do not do the mistake to voice up. Every few weeks there was something else. My son became emotionally distant in the end towards his class-mates and the school generally.

What was the outcome for you?
Congratulations! your child has left BTPS finally and safely. The cruelty, a cold-heartedness (as you put it) and the integrity-lacking environment is not good for a child development.

The case dragged for so many months. After each meeting, the teacher and the school tell more and more ridiculous lies to cover for themselves and making empty promises. Behind my back, they exert pressure, punishment and interrogation on both the victim and the witness while keeping the truth away from the bully parents. Eventually, we gave up on talking to the school and go to the parent of the bully directly. They admit their child wrong-doing, apologise and case close. Its as simple as that, i don't understand why the \"educators\" want to get the cases unnecessarily complicated or does it simply reflect their integrity and morale values. frankly, they lost the respect from us
wow this year vacancies at Phase 2B is only 53 vs 2020's 97!

Going by historical take up rate at 2B, the average is 25, so at 2C the vacancies would be only around 48!

The take up rate for SMPS is very high this year!

St Margaret vacancies for 2B in 2020 was 62/63 not 97.
and per your stated scenario, with 53 vacancies this year, and take up of say 25 in phase 2b, 81 vacancies will be available in 2C. (still lower than 97 for 2C in 2020)

Oh yes apologies, I misread the 2B vacancies for 2020 and was mistaken over the remaining 2C spaces and thought it was only 20 when in fact its 53. So even after say 25 of 2B are taken, 2C would have left about 81.

Still...take up rate is higher this year. Good sign though, SMPS is getting \"noticed\" haha
SMPS is a hidden gem. šŸ™‚

P1 registration starts 2022, next year.
But, we stay out of 2KM (99 Wilkie Road) , within 2KM (Mattar Road)
Any chance to get it? Thanks!

It may be difficult. the school will be moving back to Willkie and surely draws the population around with the new facilities. But its worth a try, the school adopts a very balanced holistic approach without sacrificing on its academic standards or well-being of the girls.
