Good thing the camera on my laptop is broken, I was planning to have it fixed but now I'm not sure if I should.. these hackers needs to be caught.

Hi Brenda,
Have you tried to reinstall the hardware driver for the webcam?
Alternatively, you could purchase a USB webcam which you could unplug at anytime!

Hi, I'm not sure where I can find my hardware driver for the webcam. It all started when some horizontal lines started showing up on the screen of my laptop. I am considering of buying a USB webcam. Thanks for the advise!
Are you on Windows 10 or Windows 7? You can refer to the link below:
https://mcci.com/support/guides/start-device-manager/

After you open that up, you should find your webcam installed under Camera (Windows 10) or Imaging Devices (Windows 7). Or if you find a a line that says other device with a question mark to the icon.

You can take a screenshot of that for me!

Although computer drivers ought to get checked and updated automatically through Windows updates, often they get out of date. Especially when users turn off the updates, which is a quite popular practice. Friends, are there any driver updater tools? I would be very grateful for your help.
Hi Mamann,

What is the brand of computer that you are currently using?

I know Dell has a software that would prompt you for updates specific to your model when it is available. Always try to use the manufacturing computer software for these updates as you never know what is being downloaded through this 3rd party websites!
