As for size of iPad, DD feels the std iPad is best compromise. iPad Mini is too small and iPad Pro too big to comfortably bring around. Of course, probably just a personal experience too. She’s used the iPad since Sec 1 (now in Sec 3)

Was reminded of Covey’s Circle of Influence and Circle of Concern. The results of DSA is not within our Influence at this juncture (but most definitely a Concern), so no use fretting over it. What is within our influence is how to break the news, whatever the outcome, and preparing DC for PSLE. Good luck for those who have chosen to embark on this DSA journey. At the very least there’s the experience of going through it to take home. Hopefully there’s closer bonding between parent and child too. 1.5weeks to DSA DDay

I just got a washer and dryer set, so am a newbie. Have a question relating to the use of the dryer. Is it better (more economical) to dry the clothes immediately from the washer, or to dry the clothes after air drying for some time ? My drying area is windy and clothes can be about 80% dry overnight already, so I was thinking to use the dryer just to get rid of the last bits of moisture prior to folding. My two friends who use dryers disagreed though and said it’s better to use the dryer first and then air dry finally. Any experience to share ?

I used to be in the school team during secondary school days in the 80s. The coach recommended the black rubber on one side and red long pimple rubber on the other for all of us. Per bat costs about sgd40 back then all in.

I think the most common configuration will be inverted rubbers on both sides. When the player is more advanced, then he can explore long pimple, short pimple etc. Price range depends on what blade you use and what you put on. If by intermediate you mean someone good enough to represent school in competition, then I would expect the price >$150 easily

Depends on the choice of blade (the wood part) and the rubbers (red and black soft part). Likely to be >$150 for the average specs. The choices are really bewildering, and I'm still exploring. I refer to this website (http://www.tabletennisdb.com/) for starting point, and the choice depends on the ability and preference of the player. If it's the first time, perhaps just ask the kid to try all their friends' bats and get the same one. Good luck

Sorry to change topic - I have two extra rubbers that I can sell away at cost to interested parents (DHS Hurricane 3 and Donic JO Gold Max). These are commonly used rubbers for fore and backhand. They are unopened in original packaging and should be cheaper than that available in stores. Just PM me separately.
