      Dear All,

I would like to seek advise on the issue. My boy obtained 3A and 1A* and T-score of 231. His friends also achieved 3A and 1A* but had a T-score of 253 and 257.

How is it possible for the big difference in T-score despite getting the same grades? Anyone can advise on this issue?
Simple...Your boy's 3As probably low As while his friends As are high A, the range is pretty wide. My boy's friend 3A* & 1A T score is still lower than my son's 2A* and 2A.

Hi Chief, In the T Score reporting , there are 3 scores that seem suspicious

      Maha Bodhi 300
      St Gabriel's 300
      Pioneer Primary 290
All fake and should be removed...theoretically, it is not possible to achieve 300 T-score...since T score looks at relative performance and not raw score.

Congrats to all parents and their kids results.

Was running through all the chats at this thread and sorry to hijack the thread with some amateur qns. I am a 1st time mum with kids gg to P1 in times to come. Would like to know how the PSLE results system work?

What is EESIS, COP and why is there a +2 or +3 after the score ?

      Thank much for the sharing.
Wow you really KS...LOL. No point knowing since by then your kids will be under a new PSLE system, no longer the T Score thingy. The +2, +3 is basically for the Higher Mother Tongue, offered to only top students. Unlike normal subject, HMT is graded Distinction (3 points), Merit (2 points) and Pass (1 point), which can be added to T score, but is only useful when applying to a SAP school such as HCI, Dunman High, NCHS, etc. COP or cut-of-point is what a sec school cut off for students acceptance and usually out after each year's posting is completed. By 2021, this will be irrelevant.

EESIS is a scholarship for top 2-3% PSLE scorers in Independent School I believe.

      Hi All,

My child is also transferring to NCPS next year.
Will the teachers give their students a lot of homework?
Heard that there are frequent class test, is that true?
Let me share my overall experience with a son in NCPS for 6 years. Btw he just graduated.

The homework is a necessary evil, though comes with much heart pain and stress, esp for parents who are busy or children not having tuition outside. I would say NCPS is really a good school in making sure the kids acquire the necessary knowledge and able to perform to a min standard. And kids are like sponge, they will be ok with parents' support. That explains why NCPS can achieve 100% passes year after year and churn out confident students. I would say even if kids don't attend any tuition outside, they are well prepared by NCPS at the end of the day. So no worries and enjoy the journey with your kids,

Hi.. So in summary, may I know what documents to bring to the orientation?

How much cash to bring for the books and uniform?
My gal is going to 1G

It said bring approx. $370 for uniform & books

Can't be so much. All books in maybe 100 plus, uniforms and socks are not ex...so why need 370? In my 6 years of experience there for my son, worst case wont exceed 250. For books list, optional ones don't buy unless teacher requested later, else will be wasted.

For labelling the books with our kids name, are we allowed to use name label? Or we can only use marker etc?

Anything will do. Label, marker, pen etc.

I understand that pupils get their results slip in their own classroom with parents standing along the corridor? Has the school stopped asking the top performers to go up stage ?

Thought it is done in hall....so uneventful if in the small classroom with parents cramp outside the narrow corridor. :slapshead:

If you intend to travel with your PSLE graduate kid, the best time to do so is now. Don't wait till November/December. Things will be less crowded for you and your family and you can come back refreshed and in time to handle all the admin things you have to do after PSLE results.

But school is still going on for P6. We got only 4 days off this week for the PSLE marking days. How to take a longer vacation now?
From about 19th Nov (after school ends) till about 19th Dec (just before the results are out) would be the time for a longer holiday.

You don't hv to wait till school holidays. We travelled from 12 to 19 Oct and another one from 4 to 12 Nov. Just inform FT will do since there is no more teachings now.

Yes, that is why we travelled almost immediately after last paper and another trip in early Nov...knowing to block out end Nov and end Dec....LOL
