Any mummies here whose kid is currently in playgroup, Tanglin?

Realize there are lesser kids in the playgroup? Did you withdraw ur kids from PSH? I see lesser kids in class. And other kids comes in really late for their lessons. hmmmm... am wonder why.. :?

i tried calling up today to make an appointment to view the school, the lady that answered told me to leave my number and they will call me back in 1-2 months time. I was like WHAT ??? WHY ?? she said cos now start of terms so lots of crying kids, ask me come after they settle down. Crazy right ? I'm there to see the school not to see how well behaved the kids are.


anyway I heard they will be opening another 2 more pats school hse this year but dono where yet

To be frank, there's really alot of crying around. If I have a choice again, I would not have enroll my child to a new school. Because too many crying kids around. Teachers are new (inexperience)and they are unable to attend to ur child. lessons cannot be conducted promptly cos they will have more than 1 child crying every now and then.

I was extremely excited when I managed to get a place for my boy at PSH… But it was a disappointment!

It got me worried when i attended their pre-orientation for the parents. Worry on the capabilities of the teachers. They are new and inexperience (i would say cos in my opinion, they could not handle/ manage the children well). New to the school as they are unfamiliar to the school curriculum, the operation in PSH. (To think of it, all teachers needs to be trained!!! and we are paying $1k+ for trainee teachers! Especially their English teachers!!! Its such a disappointment!)

It got be doubly worried after I attended their 3 days orientation. both the Eng and Chin teachers dun work well together, not properly organized as in they do not have a proper plan for the 3 days orientation. Lunch provided is too salty for consumption!

And on the first day of school, breakfast provided was coco crunch and honey stars. and I overheard one of the teacher who was franticly looking for cereal as the kitchen do not have enough cereal to provide for the children.

Read thru the thread yr son will be attending Pat's school @ Tailing in Jan. So lucky. When you register with them? They only opened 1 Dec.
I poped by to enquire but Principle was not around and is scheduled to meet and view again only in Mid Jan. While there, I have viewed the curriculums and the area roughly. I feel aircon bit cold. But I really likes the curriculums seems like all under one roof. Their teachers all looks very plesant too. Can you please keep us posted on how your son doing there pls and I hope he will have a wonderful time there next week!

Relax….. is good to let the school do the teaching and we can just enjoy playing time with our kids. Guess we only need to supplement with reading and moral educations. The school fees not cheap, with all the enrichment classes done in school, we parents why not relax our weekend? Need not ferry them here or there for classes, we can bring them to zoo, botanic garden instead. what you think?

I registered him 3-4 months ago when they were having their open house..

I am actually quite disappointed with my boy's Eng teacher. Despite she was from Philippines, during the pre-orientation, she dun seems to be able to manage the kids well.. and she even ask me some funny questions that i find it irrelevant!

wonder if any mummies feel the same as i felt...

Could mummies advice how do i prepare my boy now for his new school, new environment?

Getting worried and anxious.. Hope he can cope well without anyone of us around.. :roll:

yep, transport is a BIG headache. where do u stay?
tentatively, we will pick up/drop off kid ourselves...

ya. Me too. I'm staying somewhere near towner.. You?? My initial plan was to send him to Halifax but the long wait list just puts me off.. Sigh..
My tentative plan is oso to drop n fetch him myself now. But I've signed him up for 1/2 day first just to let him slowly get use to w/o his parents around.. Will convert him to full day once he is more settle..
