Hi, we have kind of decided on these schools and order by preference. I have quoted the latest year COP for reference here. Would appreciate kind parents for your advices on our ordering cos we are a bit uncertain if we sure can enter any of the schools here. Can I say that DS will most likely enter Dunman High and the 5th & 6th school is safe enough as safety net? our DS T-score 255, HCL +3 and we are looking at IP courses.


1. RI (259) - his dream school so he die die wants to try even though he know its almost impossible.
2. HCI (257)
3. ACSI (256) or Dunman High (255)
4. Dunman (255) or ACSI (256)
5. Catholic High (252)
6. River Valley High (253)

we couldn’t decide between ACSI and DHS ordering. Cos if DHS is in 3rd, I think we can get in but the father prefers ACSI which is nearer to us with direct bus.

Hi, my child is eligible to for HMT and foreign language and he is keen to do both. We want to try for ACSI lP with 1 pt away from COP. Wish to find out if it will be too hard to cope esp when the school requires 2 CCA in Yr1-4?

Seeing the list above, I think my DS t-score 255 doesn’t stands a chance at all for RI. With 255+3 HCL, Can I try HCI as first choice? He wanted to try 1st RI, 2nd HCI. 3rd Dunman High / NJC.

There is no harm putting RI as first choice even though the chance is very low (RI lowest COP is 256 in 2015).

Can put HCI as 2nd choice. His chance for HCI is about 40% based on his 258 (255+3) score (refer past 5 years COP below).

Almost a certainty that he can get into Dunman High based on his 258 (255+3) score (refer past 5 years COP below).

His chance for NJC is low based on his 255 score (refer past 5 years COP below). However, if he prefers NJC than Dunman High, he should put NJC as 3rd and Dunman as 4th.

As COP fluctuates from year to year, please put very safe choices for the 5th and 6th.

Hi all, need some advice
I have 2 boys (p3 and N2)
I neglected p3 boy chinese when he was younger, thinking that kindergarten lessons were enough. Fast forward to today, he is struggling with his chinese;(..although he us currently having pte tuition he is still struggling with word recognition, tingxie and writing.

Recognising our mistake, we have enrolled my younger son N2 to berries and he enjoys it. he learns alot of chinese characters etc that his older brother has difficulty reading. I feel v bad when I see the older brother feeling inadequate when he sees his younger brother able to read.
he even asks me if I could enrol him to berries too.

my qn is
1. Even if I try to enrol him to p3 berries, will he be able to catch up?
2. Will berries allow a p3 boy to join a younger class?
3. Is berries suitable for v weak students?

My child graduated from berries. So I can tell you the was fun part is up to k2. P1 onwards is academic just like any centre, following MOE syllabus so I think he will be disappointed to think it’s the same kind of fun the N2 is having.

Berries has easy-to-read materials but not a lot of homework. Lots of work is done in class. You need to revise the lesson materials at home. I’m afraid if you depends on berries once a week lesson alone, it will not be sufficient. You must make sure he revise the lesson done, because berries isn’t the drilling kind of class.

I believe they Will allow u to join younger class if you insist but discouraged. You can try asking. This is because he will only benefit from the lessons which are for his current level. If you join 1 level down, you are not revising current level materials which you need for exams. He won’t improve. So go for current level class, and self revise at home for p1-2 words.

I cannot tell you if it is suitable for weak students. My nephew was weak in CL and n joined berries in p2 HCL class (because his pri school insisted HCL for p1-3) but he couldn’t catchup Cos he didn’t revise as well. He enjoyed the class actually and didn’t reject CL at that point. After switching to other centre which drilled a lot with lots of homework. He hated CL n results dipped was always in barely pass stage thereafter up till now.
