I have been taught by Mr Ho and I can say that he is definitely not like what your daughter has described him as :boogie:
Mr Ho's voice is very low and quite booming, so it will give the impression that he is shouting/screaming at the students even though he is not. He also tends to raise his voice (not in the angry way) much more than the other teachers so it seems as if he's angry all the time. I hope this clears up some things for you and your dd.

Saw a 'drama' period during one of the school hours on Friday...daughter recognized one of the instructor is from Singapore Media Academy. Can I enquire how this drama period will be an asset? Thanks.

drama is really fun, most people thoroughly enjoy it and the teachers are mostly very passionate about their craft and teach well. drama can be taken as an elective programme in sec 3, just like AEP, MEP, there would be DEP if your daughter chooses to apply for it. it can then be taken as an o level subject; drama also teaches you how to be more confident and how to project your voice/produce skits or plays.

i'm currently a sec 1 student in CHIJ TP. the facilities and the teachers are great. the atmosphere is too!

i've been reading lots of things on this thread and i feel like the negativity mostly comes from hearsay from other parents-- if you base your opinion on this school solely on the comments and replies here, you might have some misconceptions!

1. IJ has many dedicated teachers. All of my subject teachers are very passionate in their teachings and take studies and discipline seriously. Our discipline mistress never fails to scare us with her booming voice There are many teachers here who have worked in IJ for decades, notably Mrs Tan Aye Leng and Mrs Josephine Teo. Any mothers who are ex students would know what they are like!

2. Our campus is well equipped with many facilities. In fact, I might not be exaggerating if I say we are more than well equipped! We have various computer labs and iMac labs, a huge dance studio, a chapel and even a recording studio!

3. The IJ mentality has never changed--although I do admit there are some bad eggs in the school (most of them are seniors) I believe that it is not the school that makes them what they are, but themselves. Our school has never been relaxed in disciplinary matters. All schools have some bad people, so it is quite weird to put the blame on us

If you were wondering, I was not asked by the school to write this review HAHAH. I just felt that the negativity in some posts here were too much, and I had to do something about it. If you have further queries, I'll be sure to reply! Thanks

There is a class for normal technical. It is class 1N8.

1E1-1E5 = express

1N6- 1N7 = normal academic

reduction in express stream?
