• RE: KRTC Pasir Ris Playgroup

Hi I have put my daughter in KRTC Pasir Ris Playgroup and I found that its really different from other Playgroups out there,

At first I was very hesitant because its only 2 hours but when I joined my daughter really enjoyed it. They are not all play the teacher Ms Barbra really do a lot of things to keep them occupied.

you can check out their Facebook page and you will see my daughter who is now 2 years old enjoying herself in the class, its a small group and I thought it will be better for my daughter to have more friends in the class, their maximum is only 8 students and they even have 2 teachers.
anyone is enrolled in \"Read in a Week\" at KRTC tampines or Rivervale Mall? Are they good? Any comments at all appreciated. I am trying to compare between KRTC and I CAN READ.

My Son has tried this Read in a Week Program and comparing it to I Can Read I prefer to come to Read in a Week.

I was in Read in a Week in Pasir Ris last time but my son cannot understand the way they teach and they have a really big group there.

I tried to go to their Pasir Ris branch but the timing is not good on a Friday Night.

So I went to Tampines Branch they have a Thursday class and Have weekend class also.

The teacher is quite good you can give them a call or try both to find out. I believe they will be doing some Holiday Program this November to December

May I check how old was your kid and with or without phonics background? Is he still with the school? I happened to be looking at Read in a Week at Tampines branch, just went here on Saturday, is Teacher Sherlyn good? She keeps yapping...personally I don't have chemistry with her but not important so long as she can teach. I got alittle confused reading your reply too... so u went to Pasir Ris \"Read in a week\", you feel that your child cannot follow the class because size is too big and then changed to Tampines \"read in a week\"?
May I also check the reason why you prefer Read in a Week to I Can Read?
Sorry For the Late Reply been super Busy.

My kid was 5 years old year when he started Read in a Week and it was another teacher Janice. She was strict and really wants student to follow what she's teaching. My Son don't have any Phonics background when he joined Read in a Week except when he was with I Can Read.

My explanation was I am attending I Can Read in Pasir Ris White sands, after a few months my son is not progressing because
1st he cannot understand the tutors very well, their slang is kind of different
I think you know that their teachers are Foreigners right?
2nd their class is too big and my son was always standing, up checking with his classmates and playing, and the teachers are just letting him.
3rd When I ask them how is my son in the class they just say ok and good, but other than that no feedback or what so ever.

So after that I tried doing a trial in KRTC Read in a Week in Pasir Ris but their timing is on a Friday Night which my son cannot attend then I went to KRTC Read in a Week in Tampines and enrolled my son on their Thursday class. I just said they have a Weekend class.

So far my son can read books , magazine sentences now after 1 year I can say hes really ready for P1 this school year. The way they conduct classes is really good and the feedback and communication with the tutor is very good

Some of my Sons classmate in I Can read (i think around 3) I saw them on the Saturday Class when I went there one time to pay on a Saturday

Anyone know kent ridge tutor ? I am staying in the east.

Mr Allen Primary Maths
Mr Ho Primary Science (Star tutor)
Mr Lie Primary Chinese

Understood they teaches in a few centres.

Appreciate if anyone can share your experience they are your children tutor. As the fee is pretty expensive...
Yes Their Fee is really expensive but just like hannahk said they give more discount as you enrol in more subjects.

I was with them last year in bedok but now I transferred to Tampines Branch they have a really good primary teacher Mr Jeffrey Ng there who is really patient and the children can understand him very clearly

I was only referred by my friend and tried Krtc and it turns out they are ok.
at first I was hesitant as their fees really are high but since I am recommended I also get some discounts.

In the East I think you can try Tampines
