GoodMorning Ykiasu,

First of all...Double Congratulations!!!!Give a big treat to your brillaint Son...

I'm too young..just taking my PSLE this year. But, would like to share some facts i gathered from my seniors. Hope it'll be useful to you.

RI - Strong - if your DS is an allrounder. (Including Eng)Cut-off mark to enter using PSLE is the highest.Ie, Higher u are in the rank among others, the greater your chance of winning a seat.Exposure to shine in CC is outbright.Like if your son is a very good debator... then definetly RI will clearly expose his talents to a greater extent.

NUSH - More emphasis on Science and Maths. Not too stressful.Students must be very strong in group discussion, Should clearly outshine others in their group during the camp interview so tht they get selected to their final round..which is a Powerpoint presentation on some science facts.
Very much interested in science and MAths only...then NUSH.Cut- off mark to enter using PSLE is slightly lower than RI.

To be very frank, i din't want this situation of yours to be given to my parents. So, i outrightly said NO to NUSH- DSA. Now i'm given an oppurtunity in RI (Waiting for my domain result ) I think i made a wise decision. If i dont get thru now..(eventhough I have done my best...)let me try using PSLE. Either RI or NUSH will be waiting for me...Rest in GOD's hands....
Good luck to your DS!!! Think and Make a Wise decision.ITs your Brilliant Son's future!!!!

it seems like..... oh well nothing

I find it rather unsettling that the MOE does not intervene...this time clash is just not fair for the students nor their parents applying for DSA in these various schools.

Even to this stage when the students has proven that they good enough, they still are put in this very difficult position of having to make a choice. Sending the kids from NUSH and the to RI is crazy! The child will be totally depleted by then.
guess as parents we don't hv much choice but to help our kids make the right choice.
They are popular schools, so they try to make dates and times clash so that less pupils attend. I don't think they like marking hundreds of DSA scripts. Besides, if the your case is that RI/RGS and NUS High clash, to put it bluntly, it's your fault.
As you are child , I will not be entertaining your immature rebuttal. You need time to grow up and be enlightened.

Right PowerPuff Mum, MOE Hater has a lot of growing up to do. Children tend to see things in black and white , and find it difficult to look at things from others prespective.

GoodMorning to all,
I have been studying this forum for quite sometime.Just registered myself now to just share my personal opinion on Forum Posting...
As pasted here... There are few students (to mention Ruyu and MOE hater)who seem to be posting w/o courtesy...I really appreciate students like Almighty and Sun_2010(not sure whetherSun is a student) who wanted to correct them thru replying them politely...Even after studying them i can see ruyu, commenting Almighty in a harsh manner...Like \"it seems like..... oh well nothing\".Almighty has expressed her/his opinion in a clear manner..n Ruyu comments in such a bad manner???? :x and the best reply Almighty gave is to ignore such comments...
There are students who are like Ruyu and MOE Hater and some good mannered students like Almighty!!!!
Please children...Learn to respect others ,(Including their feelings)Learn to be more courteous!!! IT will definetly move you to higher positions and places...
Good Luck to all !!! :D
can i ask you were you soo perfect when you were a child that you can complain about this children.are you soo perfect that you can complain about children. A few comments is not definate that the children are very well disciplined in life. This forum is not life. You cannot judge their behaviour beacuse of their posts.Do you have any idea how will kids feel when they read your post. What if you child was in this forum and he was accused of bad behaviour will he/she feel very happy. what if a child who gets sad for even the smallest things read your post and susided and put the blame on you? Are you some kind of physchic or something to figure out what ruyu ws posting without him even completing his post? Do you know nick vujicic? He was born without limbs:both arms and both legs. He could have complained to god why he was born like this. But he did not.He took life as a challenge and won.You cannot say children are not prefect by their posts. No one is perfect. You cannot expect them to read a guide on proper forum rules before posting. I can see that you are not perfect. You just complain. On children some more. Give them a break, they are not as free as you posting about them. They have work to do too. So dont go about accusing children i am uterly angered by your post.
Well, ratio problems are supposed to be solved by ratio.I love using ratio but i'm always stuck at challenging questions that involve ratio. One quick(inaccurate) example is this: The marbles that A and B has is in the ratio 6:7. Then,124 marbles were added to the total and the ratio became 2:3.How many marbles were there at first? These kind of questions are common and its almost impossible to solve using model. If your dd knows how to use ratio to solve such challenging problems, then your dd should be alright if she wants to use model now as she still have the \"skills\" to apply the ratio method if she needs it.However,if she cannot solve using ratio, then she may face difficulty with the challenging questions.

Hi

I picked up this quote from the thread, Tips for improving in PSLE. It was from a member called livewith_vanilla.

I think the question she posed is a pretty interesting one, it involves two changed quantities, but the number(124) involved in the transaction is lumped into one lot instead of two different portions.

The marbles that A and B has is in the ratio 6:7. Then,124 marbles were added to the total and the ratio became 2:3.How many marbles were there at first?

Have fun.
Best wishes

Hi Uncle Tianzhu,
There seems to be more than one possible correct answer for this question. I have posted a reply to \"livewith_vanilla\" to seek her clarification for this \"One quick(inaccurate) example is this:.....\"
there is more than one verytime i try i get a different answer 😐

Amelia has a stamp collection. 60% of them are Japanese stamps and the rest are Korean stamps. She gave away 63 Korean stamps and 25% of the Japanese stamps. She then had 5/8 of her stamp collection left. How many stamps did Amelia give away?

the ans is 105? i very close to figuring out but dont know one step.
