I am in sec 2 this year and thinking of transferring to Queenstown sec.i got a t score of 208.may I know the academic requirements tthat I need to meet in order to transfer .
You may consider to find out more from Queenstown Secondary School.

Usually schools take the following into consideration:
(a) PSLE performance
(b) Overall performance of the student during S1 (academic and non academic)
(c) Conduct grade
(c) Vacancy for S2 Express (2020)
If you notice a drastic drop in cut off point for a certain school, that school most likely has opened up one more Express class. I’m saying one girls’ school. Not NJC.

But inside above listing, I have checked, do not see any Girls' school drastic stop in COP. Which school, may we know?

From the list, what I saw was
Woodgrove -6,
Woodlands Ring, -5

To me, think these drop are drastic, but not sure why.

You are very smart! Sure can check this out. You just need to refer to past ten years cut off score history and dig out the school’s info and name.
From other groups, we know that some schools are having additional classes (according to one of the groups, PLMGS is one of the schools) for Express stream in order to accommodate more students and therefore we can see some schools’ COPs either to stay the same or are lower than previous year.

Woodlands Ring Secondary School is having PRIME soon, is going to shift to holding site in Yishun for 24 months from 2021. Such can affect
the school’s COP too.

Hi TWU,

What's the status now ?

Have your friend reported the error to Moe, and moe put the child back into her (his) 1st choice school, since child have met their COP ?
Hi phtthp,

My friend's child still needs to follow same procedures, and she has appealed to her first choice for a transfer.

She is reminded to report to her 3rd choice on next Monday, 23/12 while she is waiting for the reply from her 1st choice.

Don’t understand. If she met the COP, shouldn’t she be posted to the first choice?

The child’s t-score is above the latest COPs of both 1st and 2nd choices but is posted to her 3rd choice.

Someone did share with me about similar error last year but I didn’t believe.

I helped my friend to reconfirm with both schools this morning even though my friend had checked earlier (thet were very upset when they received SMS notification in early morning, my friend called both schools to check the lastest COPs).

All COPs for the same type of course (i.e. Express / NA / NT)?
Hi Serendipity,

All COPs for same stream - N(T).

My dd got 261 and put rgs as first choice. I called rgs to ask their cop and it is 261, but my dd got accepted into scgs which is her second choice but she doesn’t want to go. Should she appeal?

The appeal process is designed for people like your daughter. Meeting the COP but not being accepted because of ballot, whatever.

Given that she is not that keen in SCGS, you should at least give it a try.

Yes, you can consider to lodge an appeal if RGS is your child’s preferred choice.

T-score of my friend’s child is 7 points higher than COP N(T) (S1 2020) of the child’s first choice and the t-score is also higher than her 2nd choice but she is posted to her 3rd choice.

Her child was very upset this morning and rushed to the school to lodge an appeal by herself.

Hi phtthp,

Woodlands Ring Secondary School is going to start PRIME soon, and the school is moving to Yishun temporarily (with effect from 2021).

As such, COP of the school is affected.
I'm quite puzzled about a few things - 1) the t-scores this year have gone down across the board apparently (confirmed by more than one school staff) yet cut off seems to be somewhat increased across the board. 2) although MOE's directive is strictly no appeal if cut off is not met, some schools seem to give \"hope\" by asking parents to submit appeal even though scores may be -1, -2, why?

Staff who answer the incoming calls or attend to the parents’ enquiries are administrative staff from General Office.

Most of them won’t advise parent not to lodge an appeal, some will advise parent to try even though they are told the t-score of one is lower than the school’s COP.

However, such responses are not equivalent to the acceptance of student who scores lower than the school’s COP.

Are appeals processed by schs or moe? If by schs, aren't they creating extra work for themselves ? Or nowadays appeals are electronic too?
Applications are processed by school.

Staff will filter them accordingly.
