My boy loves it. Now in Sec 4. Is part of 2 CCAs.

Thanks phankao. Wanted to hear from those who have ds there. I heard there are more girls than boys at njc. How does he feel about that? Happy? comfortable with the skewed ratio of boys to girls?

My boy in Sec 1 now. This year the ratio is not that big. There are 7 to 8 boys in a class of 25. I think NJC purposely gives out more COs to boys in DSA to balance the ratio. My boy feels quite comfortable with that.

May I check with u all.

In my dd NJC co letter, it put \"you must still be eligible to attend a course offered in our school based on your PSLE results (ie. the Express, Normal Academic, Normal Technical).\" What does it mean? They got offer express, NA and NT? I thought they only have IP route?

      IP is express

Yes, at least 200 in PSLE, which I don't think there is any problem with your DD. Gongrats!

Any idea how many NJC will take in thru DSA? 152 sounds promising.
On their website it's put at 60 but that maybe old info.
I brought my ds out for lunch. šŸ˜‰ But it was a bit rush. He kept hurrying me to bring him back to school by 1215. The senior even sms him to reach school before 1215. And I had to hang around for more than an hour to wait for him to finish interview. 4 interviewers to 1 student.
May I know how many sec 1s do they take in each year?
As far as I know, last year NJC sent out 40 CO through DSA, The total intake was just less than 200.

Not necessary, at least in the first couple of years.

Hi!I have a few questions to ask.

1.I'm a P6 student and I want to go to NJC by DSA.I'm having a difficulty choosing academics, music or sports to DSA with.I can't be choosing academics as I failed my maths last year and I know NJC standard is all As.I don't learn any music lessons and neither taking up martial arts!I'm also not in Track and Field! What should I do?What will they ask during the interview?

2.Is the compulsory boarding school rule still exists? :?:

      :thankyou:
      Hi,

My DS went through DSA to NJ this year.

      1. The school had only academic DSA in the past years. Students with leadership potentials are also welcomed. Please check its website around May to understand selection criteria. My DS had a couple of Bs in his P5 result sheet, but did better in his SA1 of P6. All applicants need to sit for a test consists of three papers: maths, English and abstract reasons. If you do well with the test, you would be invited to the second round of selection, which includes a day activity and interview.

      2. Yes, boarding is compulsory. Again, please check the website for more info.

Please work hard and get a good result for SA1. That would enhance your opportunity. Trust yourself!
