I would like to hire my indonesian maid who worked for me for 4 years. She went back 2011 and wants to come back to work for me again.
I went to indonesian embasssy to provide me an employment contract but they say must go through agency. Can we just give our own contract and send to the maid? Or we must have the embassy to endorse?

She applies or renews her KTKLN card when she is back in Indonesia. What you need to do on your end now is to get her the working contract from the local Indonesia Embassy. It is a two/three pages document signed by yourself / helper and endorsed by the embassy. They will give you two copies (one for her to bring back) and some notes with addresses where she can apply for the KTKLN card back home. She will also need to purchase insurance (Rp290,000) – all done by her in Indonesia. The card is like their exit permit and it is not tied to her passport validity. My helper passport is expiring in October but was issued a 2 years validity KTKLN card.
In fact, my helper went back in December and I was so worried (or kiasu) she will get held back in Indonesia I even got my home address endorsed in her passport. I kept reminding her to sort out the KTKLN card first before she enjoys her home leave which she did and sent me a text too.
Apply the levy waiver online on CPF website upon her return.
My indonesian maid has KTKLN card and still valid till Nov'13. She going home for 2 weeks. She was transferred from another employer and has worked for me for 6 months. My agency did not give me any working contract endorsed by the embassy when I hire her.
Can she just go home leave with the KTKLN and WP card, with the contract?
Is it a must for her to have a stamp on the passport?
If really need to go embassy to do all those, must the employer go down personally with the maid or can I get my sister or someone else to help bring her? -

RE: Indonesian maid salary to be increased to $450???
janet_lee88:
Experience is subjective...maid's definition of experience could be that she has seen microwave oven, washing machine etc but every household works differently. Even cooking is different.
I really do not agree on increasing so much for Indonesia maid... You know when they first come to Singapore, they don't know English, don't know how to operate electronic device, don't know how to do housework, etc... they do not worth the increase. When we work in a company, we can demand for high salary if we have the skill and are knowledgeable that worth the value, but if we don't have experienced skill or just graduated, we can't ask for more too... isn't this should be the same for Indonesia Maid? They are so ignorant and should not be comparing themselves to Philippines maid. And about high salary in HongKong and Taiwan, which I think it's unfair comparison. Many Indonesia maid go to those countries after they gain experience and learn English in Singapore then they go to HongKong Taiwan... My previous two Indo maids also mentioned their plan is to go Taiwan/HongKong after they gain experience in singapore!!! -

RE: PSLE 2010 Results Report Here

I know you can appeal to your child's school and pay S$58 per subject. They will review the results again.
I understand that the score is based on how others do, but thinking that if based on the worse case marks of A* and worse case mark for A, and I calculate based on the T-score formula, the score shouldn't be so low. So very puzzled......and need help on how to verify.Tapeworm:
My son got 3A* and 1A for his PSLE this year, but his aggregate marks is only 249. If based on the lowest score for each of his A*s and A, the calculation also does not justify the mark to be only 249... could there be a typo or calculation error? How can I appeal? I go to this website http://www.seab.gov.sg/ but were can I find the exact site where I can appeal?
The PSLE score is based on how well other people do. If it is an easy paper, then it will be harder to get a higher score. The score of A* and A changes every year, depending on how well other people do. I got 247 and I got 3 A's (I am exempted from chinese). I don't think it is a typo, and even if you appeal, they will never release the raw scores. The PSLE papers are locked away in a safe, and if not ,they were shredded into pieces. It's impossible to find out the raw score -
