RE: Forum letter by doc abt rising medical costs
After his letter was published, many doctors were furious with him and at least one wrote him an email. But I heard he was very gracious and offered to explain his encounters with unethical doctors.

RE: Where to get small quantity of name cards made?

Wow, I just re-read my post and realised that my brain, eyes and typing are no longer coordinated ! Talk about ageing gracefully...
I used Ann Print Shop when I started just started my business.
The owner is very flexible and will even design the card for you on the spot if she is not too busy. Other shops will charge you extra. You can get small batches in quite a short time. -

If you're going to Bras Basah, can check out Ann Print Shop on the 2nd floor also. Rates reasonable for 2 boxes.

RE: Too Harsh to my P3 girl
Nojo, you are not the first parent to do all these things. And certain not the last as long as Math is kept as difficult as it is. This is sad because I just don’t see the point and many many kids have been tortured by the system and our fears as parents. I guess the only winners are tuition centres.

RE: Depressed - Husband driving Taxi
Hi wifey2014,
Like many others, I have seen quite a few cab drivers who are doing well. One even showed me his personal log book to show me that he has already hit 4-5k when it was not the end of the month yet. So I believe there is scope of increasing your husband’s income.
I recall another driver telling me that he has a regular customer (expat I think) who charters his cab every morning to go to Tuas and pays for the service above market rate. That helped to cover his daily expenses and he can cut down on his hours.
In the meantime, your husband also needs your support and understanding because it is always tough dealing direct with all sorts of customers through the day. -

RE: SHOULD I RETAKE MY O'LEVEL ENGLISH??
Take the exam again if you can afford the time. A pass is never a bad thing.
But more than that, go better your command of the language. If you learn to speak well, more doors will open when you look for a job. Interviewers are often impressed with a job candidate who speaks well.
To improve does not mean you just work for a pass grade. It means you have to make an effort and speak and write well. Tune in regularly and listen to those BBC news readers. Or check out a few language improvement channels on Youtube. Speak with those around you in complete sentences and reduce the use of Singlish or whatever rojak language everyone speaks today.
