I think you can only use the affiliation cut off if you put it as your 1st choice.
Below is extracted from page 11 of the \"Choosing Your Secondary Schools for Admission to Secondary 1 in 2018\"
For dual track schools offering both IP and ‘O’ Level Programme, affiliation
considerations will only be given for the ‘O’ Level Programme. Affiliation will
be given for the ‘O’ Level Programme if the student indicates:
‘O’ Level Programme of the affiliated dual track school as the first choice
or
IP of the affiliated dual track school as the first choice and the ‘O’ Level
Programme of the affiliated dual track school as the second choice

RE: 2017 Secondary School Selection for 2018
I think it is more appropriate to put your choices as:
1) SCGS IP
2) SCGS O
3) TJC
If you do not get posted to SCGS IP, you will definitely be posted to SCGS O Level owing to the affiliation COP. If TJC COP for 2018 S1 remains at 250 or is lower, then you may appeal to TJC. You may appeal to SCGS IP only if the COP for 2018 is not higher than 250.
RE: 2017 Secondary School Selection for 2018
Hi,
DD has a score of 250 and is studying in SCGS. Preference is IP programme but we know the chance is slim as SCGS IP COP is 252 and TJC (near to our house) COP is 250. As we didn’t want to forgo the affliation priority to SCGS O level, would it make sense to put our choices as follows and to follow up with an appeal to TJC and SCGS IP ?
1) Scgs O level
2) TJC
3) Scgs IP
Hope to hear views. Thanjs. -

Yes, but most didn’t have enough time to check. Daughter had only 15 minutes to check through.
