Hi everybody,
I am currently staying in tampines now and have sold my place but paperwork should be completed sometime in July which will be the time of registration also. I intend to buy a place in Punggol but realised that it will be 1-2km from nan chiau pri. I am a hokkien huay kuan member so I was thinking that I would stand a higher chance if I rent a place in Sengkang which is within 1km for a year first. Any advice?
Also, is it possible to use my caretaker’s (not grandparents nor siblings) address for registration?
Thank you.

...Another thing, any parents here are Hokkien Huay Kuan members? May I know how long have you been a member and did you manage to get a recommendation from them? I called them and they said that they do not give recommendation to every member, it will depend on the quota given by MOE every year...
What they tell you is true. Some facts:
1. You do NOT need to be a long-time SHHK member (ie. more than a year) before you can be considered to be recommended for an affiliated school;
2. Even if you are a long-time member, your chance of getting recommended for an affiliated school depends on the quota allowed by MOE and the school for Phase 2B, which is different every year. So if there are enough members who are longer serving or higher up the SHHK hierarchy vying for the school, you may not get the recommendation.
In other words, being a member of SHHK will qualify you to be considered for Phase 2B priority in affiliated schools, but there is NO guarantee that you will eventually be given that priority. -

Hi rainbows,hi hi
just a thot, should i quickly go register myself as a member in the hokkien huay kuan and get myself placed in phase 2b so that my chances to enter the gal be higher?
or it wouldn't help? cos i'm too late to join as a member?
you are too late to join as a member, Hokkien Huay Kuan do not take in members as and when you apply. You have to get 2 members recomendation and wait for the next meeting and wait for approval, which I have waited for 6-7 months for approval. -

Thank you so much, QMS.

Also, how about Rosyth? As my mum is staying within 1km there so I can register there as well. But will only fall below phase 2C.
What happens if my kid failed getting into the school after all the balloting? Thanks in advance. -
RE: All About Primary Schools' Balloting History
Hi all, i am new to this and my gal is going to Primary One registration this year and I am a Hokkien Huay Kuan member since Feb 2009. Currently I have sold my place and am finding a new place in Punggol. Anybody can advise how high my chance of getting my daughter into Nan Chiau Pri? Also, where can I find the past few years stats for the balloting results? Thank you very much.
