Wow! Thank you for the heads up! Seems like there is so much more to think about that I had initially assumed. I have been pretty open to my daughter on her expectations on schooling and results in Singapore. I will look further out for more school options. The last resort would be for her to attend an International school. My son will enter P2 but we have yet to convert his citizenship. Again, many thanks for the advice. Much appreciated!

Thank you both so much for your responses! Very helpful and I will definitely try the email and then go down in person. I pray my daughter’s results will be good enough. She is a straight A student and is a year ahead in Math than her peers. She is an avid writer and has been published a few times… Fingers crossed!
Once I settle her school, I need to worry about my 8 year old boy… haha…
Do you all have any recommendations for good primary and secondary schools around the area?
Many thanks in advance! -
RE: School Placement Exercise for returning S'porean children
Hello everyone!
Super thankful to find this discussion group and hope its still active!
My family has been in the US for the past 13 years and finally are coming home in April…Since it wasn’t something planned way in advance, I was unable to register my daughter for the 2023 Spers. She is currently in 7th grade here so would most likely join Sec 1. I was wondering what would be the best way to approach as school for direct admission. Would I email the principal or is it better to go in person? The schools we are looking at are near Katong as we plan to live in that area…so we are looking at Katong Convent, Tanjong Katong Girls or Tanjong Katong Secondary. Really appreciate any advice I can get. Many thanks! -
