Is this a scare tactic? How does my earlier sentence make a \"baseless claim against the legitimacy of our elected\"? Did I say they rig elections? Do word your sentences carefully. Only a sentence like \"the elections are rigged\" questions the legitimacy of our elected.

But sure, I don't mind clarifying. What I meant by saying that PAP's screening \"ain't great\" was an allusion to the Steve Tan case, which everyone is aware of without it having to be spelled out. But since you specially requested, I shall accede. How they fielded him (surely he must have been screened?), how there was a sudden withdrawal, precipitating a last minute scramble and reshuffle?

Anyway, I shall desist from further comments. Such engagement in other threads has not proven to be edifying.

Hellooo again. Since this thread is abt YSL's EMA, I'll just address this topic. We r all human beings & our basic trait is non-confrontational, for self preservation purpose. Now, we can try to read a lot into why YSL didn't come clean & all that. My gut feel is that he is already very Pai Seh, & if he comes clean on 1issue, there may be a floodgate just waiting to burst with other allegations waiting in queue. Him running away shows the calibre of leadership very glaringly. We all don't like to face difficult situations, but being mature adults with family responsibility, the first course of action must not be to skip town & to not even mention this to your mentor beforehand, just confirms my thoughts on this.


I'd like to further state that, me being so hard on YSL's EMA has got nothing whatsoever to do with the fact tt I vote PAP. I will vote for who I feel can handle the job best, regardless of which party. But let's focus on the subject at hand, ok? I believe that as a voted MP, one has to be as upright as possible, otherwise it's hard to be objective; those who hv read the Christian Bible will hv come acrossed the story about king David, who had coveted Uriah's wife, then ordered Uriah to be put in the frontline of battle, knowing full well, Uriah wld most likely be killed, & King David wld thus hv his way with Bethsheba. To me, conflict of interest is so clear, in the case of King David, & here as well...

Contextual Interpretation should be more than clear...? Victims in these incidents being the estranged husbands, & not the women involved in EMAs... Certainly not YSL...?!
Also, pls keep in mind the operative word used by me is 'covet' . The word, killed applies to the modus operandi.
Hopefully I've cleared ur doubts, & hopefully, the contextual similarity is made vivid...?

Thx 3Boys…, incidentally, I hv 3 girls. I’m just a concern parent lah. Regardless that my nick is what it is, I’m for good govt, not perfect, but tries to be. My take is that whichever party that wld run Singapore in the future, shd hv all citizens’ best interest at heart & are made up of well qualified individuals that have gone through stringent scrutiny, so that scandals like this YSL’s EMA will have no place in Singapore politics. Idealist I maybe, but that’s really upto my kids to carry the baton…
