Hi BeContented,
The reason I wanted to go to MGS IP was because for the past two years I've been to the open house and last year my parents and I thought that MGS IP was pretty interesting so we decided to try out :boogie: Before I did my Sec 1 posting exercise, my parents and I sat down and talked about the ideal choices I have and then we discussed about our priorities and which school could provide a more holistic education+distance from home+Bonding with friends. So its more of a my-parents-and-my-choice kind of decision

RE: Methodist Girls' School (Secondary)
Hi
I find the program interesting, and there are many group works and projects. They are sometimes a little daunting, but it is interesting and sometimes it makes us go really in depth and through the projects, there were friendships forged and we are able to bond together with our classmates. The teachers are always there for you, and you can fire them any question straightaway. Since there is only two classes, we get to interact for subjects like triple E for instance (which is the class that teaches us different cultures). I don't know how different things are taught from the SBC classes, because I never experienced them before, but IP has many tests now and then, which is a certain percentage of your total score... sometimes 1% or maybe even more. Yea,
haha so that's about it
I'm not affiliated but we do mix very well with the old MG girls
so...we really had a great time together (esp. when we went to west coast park together) :rahrah: Over time, you'll get used to it and you will start to enjoy it :boogie: and for sec 1s, we don't have air-con. And for DSA, yep there's 60 students in total and i guess most of us got in by PSLE score, I only know a few of them who got through by DSA :grphug:
Maybe you can come to our open house

RE: Methodist Girls' School (Secondary)
principle:
Don't think anyone with 10A1s from MGS, heard this year top scorers both from CHIJ St Nicks, with 10A1s.
Heard there is a 10A1 in Paya Lebar Methodist Girls (Sec).
I think there are 5 with 10A1s from MGS if I'm not wrong... -

BPGHS should maybe in time become a SAP school. I have watch this year National Science Challenge in TCS5 and the boys from BPG perform extremely well and is the first school to get into the finals beating school like NUSHS in episode 5.
SAP schools are chosen/selected mainly because they have a long history of bilingual or mother tongue usage in the classrooms. E.g Nanyang Girls High, Hwa Chong, River Valley, Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary, Nanhua Primary and so on.
BPGHS is the BEST non-ip school in the west, COP for last year was 244 beating even nan hua. All my siblings (5 of us) are alumni.mathsparks:
Anyway , thank you for providing the above list. I didnt know Cedar,Bukit Panjang Government High, Anderson, Victoria, Tanjong Katong are good secondary too?
