Question: what are the consequences, if any, of switching CCAs after a couple of years? My girl is now in P5 and has wanted to switch for a while. I’m inclined to let her go ahead and try what she feels she likes, though I’d like to know how she’ll be affected with regard to CCA points and all that.

Hi. My girl got her booklist for P5 today. I see there’s a calculator listed. For those in the know: is this something they’re actually going to make regular use of in the syllabus, or is it going to be one of those that will turn out to be ‘nice to have but not officially needed’ kind of things?

Thought we should just let them bring the necessary workbooks to leave with the teachers on the first day?

Ok if my girl remembered correctly, there are 3 that she knows of (that she talks to) that are going to 3M/N from 2A.Updated At 17 Nov 2011, seem like no info from 2A,2D & 2F. Maybe zero??
2A =
2B = 3 (3M), 4 (3N)
2C = 5 (3M)
2D =
2E = 9 (3M)
2F =
2G = 5 (3M), 7(3N)
2H = 5 (3M)
About the hours... weren't they always released at 1330 hrs on Fridays anyway? When I saw the times I thought \"Thur and Fri release early\". Ha. I suppose Thursday and Friday are CCA days?
As for English, what I find weird is that both items stated seem to be optional. Even if the first one isn't labelled as such, my wife was told it's merely \"something like a dictionary. If you want can buy.\" by Popular staff. Wasn't in stock by the way so we don't have it yet.
Just a note: If anyone is looking for P3 Discover Maths books, we got them today at Clementi Mall Popular (text and activity books all available; best to call and confirm first though). Seems to be out of stock at many places. -

They recommended Chinese Orchestra and I think Indian Dance for my girl, which I didn't include in any of her choices. :please: She told me she was interested in (I think brainwashed by the video they showed her) joining the Girls' Brigade. I said fine, if she really wants to. In steps the wife and she kept psychoing her to join Food and Nutrition (which, to be fair, my girl also expressed interest in).
In the end instead of Girls' Brigade and F&N 1st and 2nd choice, it was the other way round, with F&N 1st choice, and that's what she's joining next year.
If it were completely up to me I'd rather have her join a sport though.
Appeal... what have you got to lose? -

It is just M n N - 2 best class for P3 nxt year.
And the rest of the classes, are the places randomly allocated or is there some form of merit system? -
RE: Radin Mas Primary
What are the classes in Pr3? And how are they placed?
My girl said "M is the best class". Quite confusing. -
