I think p6 kids should be gearing up now to get their peak period during the psle.

No extra effort, no extra results.

Hi WhysoSerious , may i know why u so serious ? U read too much into it...
not discrimination just want to help narrow down the IP school for the person who asked me this quesiton..then the person who ask can then roughly guess which part of the island mah? Sigh...too b so stressed up lah 😢 :stupid: :!: And please read this : I have TOTAL respect for ALL children in the world.. gifted , not gifted ALL schools . Doesn't matter IP or not...C'mon...we are parents they are children ...I love all of them and NO discrimination becos discrimination, jealousy and what not causes stress...As parents we hv enough stress already!
I do respect your respect and love for all children, but Im sorry that i'm not entirely convinced. Merely naming two schools cant really narrow much in that matter. Maybe having more sensitive comments would help since there may well be students viewing this thing too, for all we know.

Hi doesn't matter which IP school really...but it's not ACS ( I) and Dunman High is all i will say. And also he was not from the gifted program. And yes even i hv to \"make appointment\" to talk or discuss things with him because he's usually home late and lots of assignments to do ...tests etc..

      1. why the slight discrimination against ACS (I) and Dunman High?
      2. And all IP students need is good time management, and everything will be fine. Gradually assignments and tests become part of a routine and way of life, and they learn to cope with it. It's just a matter of how well they manage their time, and they can have time to spare for relaxation as well.
      It isnt that bad.

Hey...i agree with Turquiose...i know that NYGH also interview GEP students if necessary (refer to their DSA FAQ website)... they only skip the GAT as they are GEP already!
I'd beg to differ. No one can confirm if gep = good score in GAT.
They are 2 different tests of abilities on their own. And because of the fact that the GAT tests do screen some people out of the school admissions, i feel that all the students would be given an equal chance of getting admitted through DSA only if gep students went for the screening tests as well.

Fair is foul and foul is fair.

I personally think all students should take part in the DSA screening tests anyway, regardless of whatever stream they are in, gep or not.
Gep does give the child more space and exposure to certain ways of learning at a younger age, but it isnt the key to greatness afterall. In the end, everyone just comes back to square one in secondary school. Seriously, their peers in sec school wouldnt really care about what PSLE score your had child attained or what stream they were in.

As for MO, i believe the method and period of training does help the child excel. But isn’t training part and parcel of giftedness? It equips you with the skill and knowledge, and i think the real talent is to link the skills with proper application in the math questions with ‘speed and accuracy’. Practice makes perfect, and even talents need training and practice to go further.

The DSA season is almost over anyway, so just relax on this topic and focus on doing well in PSLE. The rest can wait.
