She's so comfortable in her Sec Sch and likes it so much she doesn't look forward to having to move to a new school. My DD was not from the affiliated the primary school and entered the Sec Sch IP programme; her CCA also doesn't have many O Level programme girls. Hence most of her friends are in the IP programme. In her case, she was considering the O Level programme strongly because she didn't know which JC she would like to go to. However, after weighing it against having to sit for the O levels, she just decided she would rather forgo the O level exam instead hahahahah! She chose the Sec Sch not because of the IP-JC partner - at that time she and we knew nothing about EJC. Since then, we've had a couple of church friends who graduated from EJC - 1 O level and 1 IP - both enjoyed EJC.

Don't need to say her - my son in an IP programme, also not looking forward to Year 5. Very happy with high school life.
Ikr,scgs n sng hv awesome culture/environment.
No feedback on Ejc here in ksp by Ejc kids , only from unofficial ksp🤭
If yr child from IP, in Ejc wont hv any issue.

I certainly hope so as I have a child moving on to EJC!! But it doesn't have a track record lor, so I just have to wait and see. And I also wonder if there is a difference being in an independent school, or not.
No track record 🤷
Why yr child isnt looking forward to Ejc?
Her IP cliques/ peers all thr train to Ejc, rite.

It's callous to label JAE students (w/o offering any concrete proof but pure conjecture I must add) as 2nd class citizens in our IP JC.

Even in the top classes in RJC (e.g. those offering double RA), there were JAE students who qualified and IP students who didn't.

The school management of the JCs all know the results profile of their students - but this is not disclosed, even to the wider teacher group. I would say, unless you have heard from a JC principal/ VP/ school leader, none of us actually authoritatively know the difference in level of performance between JAEs and IP students within each school.

What is a fact is that there is a very large degree of overlap and there will be many JAE students who outperform IP students, and vice versa. If the distinction was so clear cut and PSLE is such a definitive indicator of subsequent performance, then what is the point of JAE. I totally agree that in RI, HCI and all other IP JCs, the top classes will have a mix of JAE and IP students.

IP JCs ( EJC n a few JCs) that hv their feeder students from another sec schools prove to be more successful than JCs that hv sec level inside ( TJC, NJC, DHS, RV ). The latter stds are declining, latest being DHS.

Ejc is lucky to hv 3 renowned sec schs as its feeder partner. With 60% IP cohort inside, expectation to do well is there.
Cant can go wrong rite.

Actually a lot of the 24X kids score well at O levels and want the freedom to choose any JC. In fact, I think a good number of 25X kids are in the O level programme at MGS, SCGS, SNGS and CHS. There are also 25X kids at CCHS, Nan Hua High etc - they opted not to do IP also in part because they want the freedom to choose JCs or Poly courses later on.
Cant agree more.
But here Im refer to higher range scorers 24X who wish to pursue an IP JC Education from sec 1 but denied as current trend need 250 above to qualify.

Moe hopes to produce potential leaders from RI,HCI.
Latest is Ejc with 3 affialities Sec but cop 252 more.

Given opportunity to experience IP sec in upper tier 24X sec school and later in Nyjc, eventually these kids can too excel just like peers from RI,HCI or EJC.

As in Moe is think'g allowing more kids to enrol under Phase 2C in popular pri schs from next yr or so.

location-wise crescent girls are at the opposite end of the island though lol 🙂
Ya right, I know.
Nan Hua can consider as many CGSS & esp NH kids do opt Nyjc regardless of its distance.

Moe shd consider having higher range T Score 24X kids experience IP Education from sec 1.

To prevent Elistism brewing.
If NYJC is keen to have a through train IP programme, perhaps it should find Sec Sch partners and propose to MOE. It is inconceivable considering NYJC does have affiliated sec schools.

I'm not overly concerned about EJC's academic performance at this point - esp if it is close to that of NJC, VJC, DHS - bearing in mind that at the PSLE stage, generally speaking,, the IP cohort admitted to CHS/SCGS/SNGS may not always be as strong as that of NJC or DHS.

That said, I am not sure if my DD will adapt to EJC. She's so happy in her Sec Sch and isn't looking forward to JC so we'll see.

nyjc can go find nygh team up.... nanyang find nanyang lah...... :imcool:

Nanyang Girls High already been \"bethrothed\" to Hwa Chong.
Hwa Chong already taken up, \"choped\" all the Nanyang Girls. The girls there \"min hua you zu\", not available anymore.

Hence, Chung Cheng High (both Main & Yishun) Express stream, must look for another potential partner to pair up with, in order to become an IP school, taking in students right after PSLE.

To become an IP (A level Secondary school), minimum expected to be at least
(Tscore 250 or AL 8 points).

Thus,
even if Chung Cheng High (Main & Yishun branches, Express stream track) Psle COP are 24x and Crescent Girls also 24x, and Anderson Secondary (co-ed) also 24x, can consider, convert into IP. The higher end of 24x, the closer towards 250, the better choice

Chung Cheng High (Main), is a SAP school, offer only Express stream, no Normal stream.

For CCHM to convert into an IP Secondary school, if look for common basis background to partner with, if Crescent Girls (Non-SAP school) not suitable, can consider partner

- with Nan Chiau High (PSLE COP also 24x) or

- with Anglican High

because these two are SAP schools, have common background for communication
NCH, CCHMain and Crescent Girls'= Perfect!
AHS standard not too sure.
Doesnt hv to be all SAP.
Scgs isnt SAP but still chosen to be Ejc IP.

Good year to year comparisons I must say. But I am not concerned or triggered about comparing with other JCs. Even my yr 6 daughter can see beyond that. Steady lah.

Compared RV results to say results of Mid Tier ASRJC, TMJC, SAJC, ACJC or even TJC , yes you shouldnt worry.
But to top tier JCs, should press panic button.
Something questionable with RV teaching?

Already said right? No scared press what button? Belly button ah? You scared you press loh.
Cool answer.
But if RV is chilled in not reviewing or examing its performance, looking ahead it may end up in the mid tier jc.
moe didnt increase RV JAE intake- capped to 20%.

RV has 25% got 3 H2 distinctions is unexpected for a IP JC with 80% IP (T Score 249).
