RE: Q&A - P1 Chinese
Nyahnyah:
Anyone has a list or url link with all the hanyu pinyin changes?Understand that for the new 2015 MOE P1 syllabus, hanyu pinyin will be taught with some changes from the past in its written form, e.g. capitalization of the 1st alphabet in a sentence.
Would be real confusing for parents with older primary school kids who may still be using small caps for all hanyu pinyin since P1. -

Was asking one of the teachers today and the latest update was that the school care will only be ready after June…

There will be an on-premise student care. Last I heard it should be starting in March, still waiting...hi, My son will be in P1 next year as my wife is a ex student there.
just to check, anyone know whether does KCPPS intend to start a student care ? -

Is it possible to rent a flat nearby the school for the purpose of filing it under 1km for P1 registration?
TIA for your advise!
Technically you can rent, but you need to update your IC address in advance so that it shows the correct address when you try to register.
Lastly... In case you are caught red-handed...

Wow, you mean the school just claimed the achievements from students as their own when they are actually not doing anything at all?
There were awards under TKD and Wushu. But these students attend private classes outside using their own $. Not funded nor supported by the school. The truth is the school merely acknowledged their achievement.
The school did away with the School Swim team a couple of years back just because she felt the team was not earning enough medals for the school. I would be surprised if they set up a TKD CCA just based on a couple of achievements by students externally. -

The KCPPS website shows some awards listed under Taekwondo in 2014. Not sure about the details as it was just a passing conversation with one of the teacher... Will find out more during the orientation in Dec...wind79:
I managed to speak to the teachers yesterday. Taekwondo is currently not offered as CCA in the current premise, but it used to be available in the old premise. The teachers are also not sure if it will be available next year when they move back to Bishan.
Have been with KCPPS for more than 10 years already. There was no TKD all these years. Must have been many many many years ago. -

I share the same sentiments. Why are parents enrolling their kids to a Presbyterian school if they find attending chapel sessions an issue?
Actually I feel that parents enrol your kids in this school knowing full well that this is a christian missions school. So Chapel sessions are to be expected. If such chapel sessions are a major issue to you, then should not enrol in this school in the first place.
