thanks a lot for the quick reply. My dd is taking psle this year.Hi winterman05,
For Bilingual & Humanities domain, different schools have their different requirement. Is your child girl or boy?
For Boys' school, HCI & CHS-IP have Bilingual & Humanities domain; but their requirement are quite diferent. For Girls' school, NYGH & SNGS-IP have Bilingual domain as well.
For Bilingual: Both HCI & NYGH prefer Top 30 Winner of Singapore-Malaysia Schools Bilingual Olympia Camp, Top 20 winners challenge, Leaders of HCI's Bicultural camp or other relevant achievements. Whereas for CHS-IP & SNGS-IP, it only stated candidates demonstrate aptitude & passion for both Chinese & Eng languages. For comparison, can see HCI & NYGH's requirement is higher than CHS-IP & SNGS-IP.
As for Humanities domain, HCI prefers Achievement in debates, public speaking, creative problem solving competitions & other humanities-related activities. Whereas CHS-IP is looking for students who demonstrate aptitude & passion for the Humanities, Social & Environmental Sciences (e.g. current affairs, politics, international relations & sustainable development) .
Just to highlight : Schools will add/remove some domains or change their DSA requirements every year. So the above was based on last year 2017's DSA requirements. -

hi
Hi zac's mum,zac's mum:
Hi, just a general question about DSA from 2018 onwards: have all schools closed their DSA route by general academic ability?
Last year some schools had already moved to specific academic domains already.
Any idea which month will the schools update their domains list? Especially as some sports can vary year to year.
You are correct, some schools have moved away the traditional specific 1 domain to combined domains. E.g. Last year 2017, some schools like NYGH, SNGS, CHS, the DSA domains were Bilingual (Eng & CL), Stem (Math & Science), Humanities etc. It caught most parents in surprise when not many children are good in this 2 combination of subjects. Hence, most parents dsa-ed their child via sports, when their initial intention is to dsa via specific academic domain. Humanities is even more challenging- if you talking abt the standard they are looking for this domain (CHS has this doman last year). I wonder how many child will go to the extreme of being \"too advanced\" than other peers?
May i know what is tested for bilingual domains? Any other requirements that the school will see?
How do we go for humanities, since at P6 the kid only has English, Chinese, Math and Science?
Can anyone share which school has DSA for bilingual and humanities DSA?
thanks. -
