• RE: help on compo plot
any good plot on the following compo:

during PE lesson, your classmate fainted while listening to the teacher.

      tks
The typical approach involves letting the reader know who was involved , where they were and what time it was.

Questions are already planted into the reader's mind. They want to know a few things like : What did the teacher do ? What was wrong with the student ? How did the child's class mate react ? What happened next ? What happened in the end ?

Assuming that it is a primary 6's assignment , I would have these main ideas.

      Paragraph 1 : Background + event.
Paragraph 2 : Description of the scene.
Paragraph 3 : Action of teacher / reaction of students
Paragraph 4 : Describe the journey to the doctors
Paragraph 5 : Resolution - getting answers from either the doctor or the child himself.

This general approach would be the easiest way to frame the ideas independent of the writing style. It could easily be customised according to the child's style

e.g. The child likes to write \"flashbacks\".

      A simple self-containing flashback introduction :
Whenever James sees the picture of his P.E. teacher , memories of a particular embarrassing incident would flood his mind.
then he could use the general plot

      Thanks for the recommendations 🙂

I prefer portable ones.. it's more personal.

Wockets, the Kindle is not avail in SG ya? iPad blocked the apps download for Kindle..

PSP vita just launched this week, means not avail in SG yet right?

      Cheers

I'm thinking of Andriod too.. Galaxy tab good?
      check this out http://gameaxis.com/sg-playstation-vita-launch/

My humble suggestion is to bait and trap your kid.

Bait her with the device , but get her to sign a contract for life to implement the rules. Failing to which you would dispose of the device without hesitation.

    • RE: Getting my son not to glue himself to the computer?

If they have youtube available to them , this can help enlighten them if they understand.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zz7mWKeNgZE

Letting them make the choice themselves would be far better them forcing the choice down their throat.

How long can u force things down their throat before they regurgitate them ?

Alternatively , share with them success stories and hope they can idolize one of them

e.g. Mark Zuckerberg , Bill gates etc. Not those korean pop bands or that sort of idols.

      rags to riches http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/08/17/rags-to-riches-worlds-ric_n_671253.html#s120920&title=Larry_Ellison_Oracle

Often as a kid , they would have no idea what they want and when they grow up , they would still have no idea what they want.

oh ya.. but usually i keep these devices.. they only get to play during school holidays 😉

Do teach your daughter how to control those devices. Specify how much time she's allowed to play and get her to agree to that time.

      Such things are very addictive.

      Thx.
I am not sure about LCentral but for KRTC , it is one and a half hours of composition writing or one and a half hours of comprehension.

      Hi hi:

      CH is?

Looking P2 English & Maths enrichment class for my gal, not sure which
      one is good..any recommendation?

Some tuition centre have compo & compre and some are regular
english lesson. So which one is better? headache...

Please give suggestion! Thanks a lot!!!
If your gal gets full marks for those MCQ type of question but flunk those compre OE questions , then go for compo & compre.

If your gal cant get at least 70 % of the marks for those grammar and vocab questions in front sections of test , it would benefit her more to sign up for regular English lessons.

    • RE: I need to central share file system.

You can index upon google document and share with mediafire

Mediafire is the best filesharing site thats free imho.

Google documents allow easy web collaboration too.

so i upload a list of links unto google documents , then if someone needs a particular file , he can retrieve it from there.

When someone needs to upload a file , he can upload it to mediafire then cut and paste the link within google document
