Those students with AL 14-20 cannot join NAS. They have to go to another school with a worse G3 COP. They cannot join G2 posting group.

So AL21 is competing among the G2 group of applicants. U have a risk of being balloted out, but you should still try at first choice.

Your 2nd to 6th choices will be good fallback options. But i pray u get NAS lah šŸ˜„
Thank you all for the info and sharing.
For now, we will stick to our 6 choices and will pry hard for NAS šŸ™‚

I see that your listed 6 choices are in increasing order of COP for the G2 stream. Good, u know the MOE rule that states all 6 choices must be the same stream.

He can go to G2 stream. Based on his psle grades, he will get to do G3 Math. The other subjects he will start on G2 first. If do well in Sec 1, will get chance to upgrade the relevant subject(s) to G3 level.

Looking at his Sci/EL/CL grades, i think he will struggle if choose G3 stream, because G3 stream default all subjects take at G3 level first. Dun forget he will have to start his History, Geog & Lit at G3 level also, which is very tough if his EL is poor.

Whereas pick G2 stream, the humanities marking is not so strict. I have seen some G2 Lit papers, the kids are actually highly guided in the qn paper how to phrase their answers. Not as difficult as G3.

All the best. I think NAS is a good choice for G2.
Thanks and appreciated for your info

May I know as COP for NAS Group3 is AL 6 -13, Group 2 is 21.
Is that mean for those students with AL 14 -20 will have higher change to join Group 2 ?
Means AL21 will have less chance?

Thank you for your reply

• RE: 2023 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2011)

Good afternoon

My boy got his PSLE result AL 21 ( Group 2 or 3)
Math - 3
Science-6
English-6
Chinese-6
We stay at Tampines. As we can choose group 3 and 2 . Is it better to choose good school for group 2 or average secondary school for group 3?

He like NAS so have plan to choose:
1 NAS
2.Dunman Sec
3 Pasir Ris Sec
4. Tampines Sec
5. Bedok Green
6 .Bedok South or View
As his COP is 21 , May I have some advise if it is more suitable go to group 2 as higher change to get it compare to group 3?

For group 2 means need to learn for 5 years . Is it possible to finish in 4 years if he has a good performance in his subject due to SSB system?

We are abit confused as he can choose group 3 or 2 .

Thank you for your tips and advise .
Really appreciate

• RE: Which Secondary school to choose in the East with lower T score?

Hi. My DD score is 189, means can choose either NA or express. We plan to choose express class at East Side but not many choices.

1. Bedok Green Sec (Express)
2, Springfield Sec (Express)
3. Jun Yuan Sec (Express)
4. Damai Sec (Express) or East Spring (Express) or Changi Changkat (Express)
5. Ngee Ann (NA)
6. Pasir Ris (NA)

Is it better to choose NA from a good school or Express from an average school?

Anyone who can advise or share some experience or info regarding this?

I am quite confused and the deadline is just 6 days.

Thanks

• RE: Which Secondary school to choose in the East

Is it better to choose the express class for the average school instead of the N A from a good secondary school?

Thinking that a good school environment and facilities will be better but it will take more 1 year for NA to get that their O level exam. Express class will better but need more effort to catch up with everything during the secondary level.

Please give me some advice and school info regarding this matter.

Really appreciated.

Thank you
