Applied for SNGS Math Domain and Science Domain and have received notification for Math test and no news about Science test. My DD is actually stronger in Science. Has anyone received notification for Science test at SNGS? Thanks.

from what i heard, usually, St Nick will ask students to take English or Maths Trial test first, to gauge the applicants first. So, just proceed with the Maths test. Did the letter state after take Maths trial test, proceed to interview next ?

Anyway, if your daughter short-listed for interview later on, perhaps can ask Principal or VP (Academic), all inside the interview selection panel, together with some other Teachers : what sort of commitment(s) lie ahead, besides take part in competition, if a student were to accept (Maths / Science) DSA offer, during the 6 long years ahead, all the way up to A-level, at Eunoia Junior College ?

It is good to ask this question during interview, because later on in Sec 1, there is another pool of IP students who entered not by DSA, but by T-score, also good (strong) in Maths / Science. Is just that they prefer to enter by T-score, not by DSA route.

Thanks for all the advice. Some other schools like MGS allow students to choose more than one domain too.

Dont think there is much commitment as far as DSA academics is concerned.

DD DSA-ed math into a top school 2 years ago. Yes, she did attend the math olympiads classes and took part in competitions in sec1. But come sec2, she dropped out of the classes as they clash with her other school commitments and activities. Its optional if she still wants to sign up for the competitions. According to her, her friends that DSA-ed english/ science etc etc do not have any real commitments too.

Just curious, which schools allowed to apply DSA under 2 different domains? Thought each child is supposed to apply under one domain only?

Pardon me for asking a very basic question. We are returning from overseas and have done DSA to a few girls’ school. May I ask if my girl is shortlisted for interview or test, should she wear school uniform or home clothes on the day? If she needs school uniform, then we will need to bring it back to Sg. Thanks.

Hi, I noticed that MGS and RGS has the same date for selection test (DSA Academic), 21 July. MGS has specified it will be 8:00-1:00. RGS simply states half-day program. Does it mean if a student is shortlisted for both, she will need to choose which selection test to go for? Will schools in general offer an alternative date if there is a clash? I guess is probably not. Anyone has any thoughts/experience to share?
