mommyNg:I find the allocation of teachers to this year P6 classes weird. From what I have gathered, it seems that most of the P6 classes this year are assigned teachers who did not teach the respective P5 classes last year (e.g., 3 out of 4 teachers are new to the students). This is strange, since for previous years, the practice has always been that most of the P5 teachers would follow the students to P6, and continue to be their P6 teachers. These teachers would have a better understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of their students and would be better able to teach and guide the students for the next 9 months toward the crucial exam, This would help to minimize disruptions due to adjustments to different teaching/learning styles within such a short timeframe. So I find it so strange to make such major changes, especially puzzling when the teachers got swopped out had been excellent teachers last year. I wonder could it be due to the new principal?
My child had all her teachers changed every year of GEP 4-6. Insufficient time for teachers to know each child, much less the strength and weaknesses.
