parentof3:
Ya I know. Chong Fu has 2 pre-lims. the 1st one is by the school. The one that she just completed is Combine Hokkien Huey Kuen (all the 5 schools took the same paper)
my DS took the Combine Hokkien Huey Kuen, he said :Leanne:
Chong Fu is also one of the combine hokkien huay kuan school.
Rgds
Any of your children took the Combine Hokkien Huay Kuen Pre-lim papers? How do they find the standard? According to my DD, she says it's easier than Chong Fu's paper.
English - easy
Math - easy
Chinese - easy
Science - ok -
RE: Use of correction-tape allowed in PSLE?
My DS received the handbook for PSLE, there is not indication if correction type can be used, but mentioned they need to cross out any error they made.
Please clarify. -

RE: Science Guide Books
Janet, :offtopic: a bit - can share with us how you plan the Science Revision with DS? Especially nowadays kids have so many homework everyday - I am fighting time to coach DD1 in the later part of the evening or over the weekends
same here, my DS refused to read. I guess I have to arrange a \"date\" with him to do it ASAP...haha -
RE: Complain too much homeowrk!

At this moment, all will be busy preparing for SA1, next week both DS will have their Oral followed by Compo the follow week.NB:
DS's class home work reduced the past 2 weeks, apparently some parents complained too stress for their P6! Just wonder if they have additional tuitions/enrichment hence do not want the school to stress their kids?
DD also doesn't have much homework recently and seems that most of the work had done in the school. Yesterday, only 3 pages of xi zi and 1 page of Maths worksheet.
May be we may see more after June.

High time to revamp our education system or our mindset? How nice it is if we can follow the Finland's. Their's is considered the first in the world and a very successful one.

Suz855, u r right! Quality and not quantity. I will always remind my DS to pay attention in class in order to capture the quality information given by the teachers. -

RE: Nan Chiau Primary
Wintersoul15:
Thanks, veyvey n blue bells. I tried calling, but the principal is always busy, clerks not sure. Asked one teacher n she dare not answer when I asked what will the kids be doing in hotel, have camp fire? Activities? All I was told was to wait for the letter this week. She hinted that parents agreeded to this trip. Since when?
Hi Wintersoul15,
Letter was received and payment made last week, did you check with your ds/dd.. if he/she rec'd the letter? -

this is getting more and more comical now , ds toes are laughing too. Great time to destress prior to CA next week.
So the buffet spread will get more variety and pile higher when nearer the PSLE big day?Pen88n:

haha, i like this \"quote\" from mum1113... shared with my DS he had a good laugh too. way to make things funny & destress the child!
Would love to start this buffet spread but hubby would most probably be very shocked and cross not to be able to see his dining table top and we have to eat our meals on the floor :!:
3 cheers KSP ! :hugs:
Hi Mummies, have you all started looking around which schools to choose for your DS/DD? Will you choose a school base on his standard or look at the distance(convenient)?
