Okay… Im not a student from YTSS. But i would say YTSS is one of the best school you can get in the North and I somewhat live in Yishun too. By the information I got from my Primary School friends who now studies in YTSS said that there are happy with the live there.
I also attended their Open House last year. The location of the school is good. Quite near to the Yishun Bus Interchange and MRT station. Their CCAs is not bad. But some of their CCAs just started, so the CCA might not be of competition standard.
But overall YTSS can be considered as 1st for most students ( except for some really clever students who can go famous school.)
Just to end this up. Im a student of CHS, just helping parents who need helps on secondary school.

RE: Catholic High School
Actually, it has abit of the “Uniform Group” thingy. The Uniform inside just means that every individual is doing something in a uniformed manner. Like caring for each other, its just wants us to like watch out for each others back. And they will train us to be independent.

RE: Your first choice for 2011 Secondary School...
I would say CHS is the best choice. It is near to almost everyone. It focus of bilingualism. And its a good school.
I myself is a CHS student. (im not biased…) -
RE: SJI & Anderson Sec - Which is a better choice?
I would say SJI is a better choice. No harm going to a Catholic school when you are a non-catholiic. To be honest, if your son gets a very good result but still less than 255. You could consider sending your son to Catholic High School. CHS also has better teachers. (I’m not saying that SJI or Anderson is bad)
SJI pros: They split the class through their talents.
SJI cons: This make them drop in the other subjects.
SJI cons: The school fee is high. Approx $300 per month.
Anderson pros: Cheap school fees.
Anderson cons: There are people from other streams. Pupils in express may get corrupted by the people in the other streams.
CHS pros: Good school( Of course…)
CHS cons: Wear shorts for 4 years. (Unless ur son dun mind)
CHS pros: CCAs are 1 of the top in SG.
CHS pros: They focus on both Mother Tounge and Englsh.
But if your son got like 255 or above. You can consider sending him to ACSI, HCI and even RI.
But it all depends on your son. My best choice for T-score below 255 would be CHS.
Btw, I am also a student. -
RE: Catholic High School
The boys in CHS will go through a program call BURST program which stands for Basic Uniform Robust School-based Training. Its a program to help the boys to know that teamwork is very important and the program will let the boys know that they need to do everything correctly. The program is like a army styled program, with sports and drills.
Btw, I’m a Sec 1 boy from CHS this year. The COP for this year is 247 from what I gathered from my schoolmates. None of them scored below 247.
