    • RE: All about learning German

Sorry to revive a 3 year old thread… but in light of current COVID situation I am not keen to send my child to learn German in a classroom. I prefer private tutor for total beginner. Does anyone have any private tutor to recommend? Thanks in advance.

May I know how many 1km applicants in the end? (Already over, but just curious)
      Thanks.

Wow close call too. But congrats to you 🙂

Thanks! :rahrah: So how did it go for you?[/quote]2C Ballot. So can only just wait until 8/08 to see if I can have a relaxing National Day or not 😂
Our choice to take the risk, so have to live with the consequences.

    • RE: All About Full-Time Maids

Hi, my Fillipino maid just came back to tell me that i need to sign a new 2 year contract with her in order to renew her passport which is expiring in August 2017. Her existing contract is until December 2017 so I’m not sure why I need to sign a new 2 year contract now.

We called the maid agency who gave her this advice and they bluntly said that it is requested by the Philippines Embassy and that we have to sign.

Did anyone encounter this before? We are not sure if we want to keep her for another 2 years so we don’t want to be threatened to sign for no reason.

      1. Is this a real requirement for passport renewal for Filipino FDW?
      2. If I don’t renew her passport, is there any problem when it expires?
      3. Are employers obliged to renew the passport for the FDW?

(I am aware that I could also try to ask the embassy, but just want to check first if anyone else encountered same situation)
      Thanks.

    • RE: GPS Watch for Kids

      Hi,

My SO will be bringing our child (4.5 yo) on overseas holiday alone. However, both of us are concerned since our child frequently runs off by himself (its relatively safe in Singapore but not so in the country they are going).

We are looking at buying a GPS wrist watch for kids that can be used for overseas to track his location. Has anyone used any before?

      1. What brand / model to recommend?
      2. Would it work overseas?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

So… I understand the part about needing to serve as GRL for two years before getting any chance at Phase 2B, but can anyone share what does GRLs need to do? Thanks.

    • RE: All About Parent Volunteers (PV)

      Potatomato:
Hi everyone, I'm a newbie to KiasuParents. I've been trying to look for a thread on Nan hua primary Parent volunteer but don't seem to have any. I sent in my application for PV in Jul this year (my son is born 2011), but till date there's no reply. Asked the school on it and they said there's no timeline on when they will reply?? I'm worried if that means I'm not selected? Any experience to share pls? Thk you in advance 🙂

      Hi Potatomato,

I'm interested in Nan Hua too (but my son is only born in 2012). If you have any news / updates / outcomes from your application, would appreciate if you could please let us know here as well.

      Thanks.
