floppy:Oops.. sorry for the wrong info. I thought I seen that somewhere :imsorry:
While race isn't a consideration, it's not on a first come first serve basis. Phase 3 is centrally controlled by MOE.

RE: [Ang Mo Kio] Primary Schools
I don’t think registration considers Race as a criteria. As long the school has vacancies, your child will be accepted, on first come first serve basis. AMK Pri should still have alot vacancies left from earlier phase for SC/PR.

RE: All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools
Question abt STEP pls… if MOE offers a place in a nearby school to our new home but we don’t want to enroll in that school, can we reject the offer and just stay in current school?

RE: Marymount Convent
p0o9i8:
Register her in 2A first. Then monitor the vacancies in 2C. If high chance to get in, can always withdraw from RGPS then register at new school. Marymount usually no ballot at 2C.Hi, I am an ex student of RGPS and my DD is now 3, as our home is at boon keng, I afraid the commute for her would be far.
There are a couple of pri schools I am considering, but am unsure if I will waste the 2A chance of getting her in RGPS. Marymount convent in Toa Payoh is nearer, but would be tough to get in without any PV I suppose? She is 3 now, isit early to consider PV to ensure her ballot chances for Marymount convent? or CHIJ Primary Toa Payoh, which is just within 4km away from my house
My girl got in at 2CS. I love the vibes there, the girls looks well behaved. Even security guard lady also very nice :rahrah: -

Sure to have ballot for St Nic at phase 2C. I see that phase 2C results will be out on 2 Aug. Does that means balloting will take place on that day? Can someone share how it works?

RE: 2017 P1 Registration Exercise for 2018 In-Take
You have a tricky situation. Apart from SNGS, none of the options that you have mentioned (i.e. Anderson and Ai Tong) are realistic choices. While Anderson would have been safe for under 2km last year (due to the lower birth rate), it's most likely to go back to the status quo (i.e. ballot within 1 km) this year. You can monitor the take up for Anderson and go for it if there's no balloting (but don't keep your hopes up too high). Ai Tong always ballot within 1km and I doubt that will change this year. SNGS will always be an available option because within 1km, you are guarantee a chance at the ballot. Given that most primary schools in Ang Mo Kio (except for Anderson, SNGS and Teck Ghee) have vacancies for P2Cs, my opinion is you should go for SNGS and pick another primary school (nearest) as back up.
As for your son, unless you are a member of SHHK already, you may be a little too late to try the SHHK route for Ai Tong. You will need at least 3-4 years of active membership in SHHK to stand a chance at getting that elusive recommendation. Given that his registration is 2020, time is not in your favour if you have not action on it. In addition, there will be balloting for Ai Tong in P2B and depending on the number of registration, you may or may not get a chance.
As for Catholic High, unless you are prepared to shift to within 1km, you definitely won't have a chance in P2B.
Thanks floppy for the advise!
After much consideration and discussion with my hubb, we might want to try marymount convent at 2C2. But we are 2.1km from the sch. Historically any ballots in 2c2? as I understand I will be fighting space against the non SC
Also.. in the event if I can't get in 2c2, can I still choose any of the available schs in amk like amkps, jingshan, etc? Or I have to wait for MOE to assign one to us and will it be given nearby our house? -
