ChiefKiasu:You are right, Chief. I apologise for my insensitive remark. The lady just lost an election. It costs us nothing to lessen her pain by not making snide remarks about her, even if we disagree with the narrative used during the election.xxmummy:Losing PE is an interesting twist to the AHPETC saga. Now WP has to prepare and handover the accounts (and cash!) to PAP in few months.
Are they being forced to show hand earlier than they wish. Maybe that is why LLL doesn't want to be in parliament :siam: .

Losing PE is an interesting twist to the AHPETC saga. Now WP has to prepare and handover the accounts (and cash!) to PAP in few months. It's better that WP retains Aljunied so they will, hopefully clear up the mess in the account and manage it better this time. The narrow margin in their win in Al could be a sign that residents there are wary of their seemingly arrogance, especially SL. The ruling party also lost a lot of votes when they became complacent and were perceived to be arrogant, so it may be the same case for WP. So it's good to always be humble whether you are the ruling party or the main opposition.
Heard that LLL cried and had to be consoled? By default she would be a ncmp but she said she would reject the post. So she just wants to run town council, and not be an alternative voice in parliament?

Iβm in awe of the Singapore voters.
We are a discerning lot, arenβt we? We showed the world that we appreciate clean politics. We value substance over form. We understand the power of our vote - we motivate our politicians with our votes; push them to serve the people and country better.
Proud to be a Singaporean. -

Why the hurry?
I think people forget that the PAP can also be part of a coalition government. Unless Chief is asking about a PAP wipeout.ChiefKiasu:
2) WP form the next government.
Let's say WP gets all 28 seats.
If PAP retains Ang Mo Kio and Pasir Ris Punggol, that's already 12 seats. All it needs is just another 5-man GRC, and it will have at least 17 seats. Seriously, how to lose against jokers like RP, PPP, SDA and NSP?
Methinks PAP Lite will be more than happy to form a coalition with PAP (sorry die-hard PAP haters
). 28 + 17 = 45 = majority in Parliament = can form government. Only question is who has more seats and so will lead the coalition.
Don't rock the boat, don't rock the boat or else we will :imdrowning:!

Yes, agree with you.Nebbermind:
I think CSJ is just a pain...if he's indeed dangerous, he would have been forced into exile.
Actually.. I think for him to appear now is good for all.
At least now we can evaluate him what he has done so far, what he had said in this GE and what he will do in the future.
Then we have a basis in this beloved nation on how to handle this...not stereotyping but a framework on how to assess candidates of various parties.
I wonder who he is grooming to be his successor...maybe his eldest daughter. -

Musings:
I think it was a tactical decision and a good one as it is the only way to shut up all the critics of TPL who said she CMI and riding on coattails of GRC. Notice how the opp supporters have all moved on to other targets and left TPL alone in this GE? If she wins, it will put to rest all the unfair mockery of her.[/quote] :goodpost:
If TPL is indeed one of the winners with biggest margin this GE, that means that PAP ηδΊΊηηΌε δΈε or their ground work is poor, as the decision to crave out a SMC was based on last GE results and the concern that TPL could be a liability to Marine Parade GRC. A tactical error in hindsight.lee_yl:

TPL may be the biggest margin winner this election  :yikes:
