My cousin did mention that she had asked her church friends to ‘take a look’ at her home,but I do not know whether her friends include the priest . And she had asked them there without her mum’s knowledge. She was afraid that her mum, being of a different religion, may not agree to the arrangement.
Her mum is actually on medication currently. She had apparently brought her mum to the doctor when she first sensed her weirdness, thinking that she was probably just stressed. That was way before she found the book. Now, I guessed she is having doubts.
I am actually quite intrigued by the belief that one can actually invite spirits ,if there are any, into your world.
Heard this during one of my CNY visits .
One of my distant cousins found a book on 招魂 in the house while spring cleaning and it scared the hell out of her. It wasn’t the book that scared her, but the fact that it was found hidden among her mum’s old clothings. If it had just been left on the coffee table or anywhere else in the house, she would have just taken it as one of her mum’s casual reads . But,why hid? And these years her widowed mum had sometimes acted quite strangely, mumbling to herself when she thought no one is watching. She had gotten rid of the book, and her mum did not ask about it either. My cousin had been advised to watch over her and monitor the situation.
It made me wonder , is it really possible to invite 'thing’s into your home?
