When my girl registers for the school this year, my intention is to still rent at this area and renew my lease for convenience sake. However, my landlord might not renew my lease. Then what can I do? Like I said before, MOE should allow people like me to change address to somewhere STILL within 1km (buy or rent) and not expect me to stay in the same address for 30 months.
I am in exactly the same predicament. We sold our house last year, the intention was not due to registration of school but for other reason. Thus, I am renting a condo near a school which I don't even think is a famous school but just a neighbourhood school. But we do want it to be near where we are planning to stay for the long term. Our current rental contract is 24 months. Circumstances 24 months down the road aren't clear to us yet.
We have been staying around the vicinity for the last 7 years (but not within 1km) and wish to continue to residence in the neighbourhood but who knows what is going to happen?? I have no crystal ball.
What will MOE say of such case?
