Firstly, welcome to Singapore, and KSP forum.

Did you try to talk to the teacher? The chinese teachers are mostly from China (from what I see), so maybe that’s why no explanation in English. Furthermore, if they keep explaining in English, it might hinder the learning of Chinese.

Happened to meet a parent of my girl’s classmate (from Myanmar). She was telling me she sent her son to the CC for chinese tuition, on top of an enrichment class (which I forgot which school). Maybe you can try the CC (Community Centre) near your place, to see if they have chinese tuition for P1.

Near but not convenient, esp if it rains, and I have to bring 2 kids to school. My #2 is studying at CCK Bible Church Kindy (nursery), so I don't want to lug 2 kids with 2 bags up and down the bus.

my girl takes the school bus, but I drop by almost everyday during recess.

my girl wasn’t doing as expected, or maybe we set our standard too high?! But, her addition and subtraction is getting from bad to worse, hiaz.

you have only 1 kid? you stay near KPS?
We’re staying at CCK Cres, so it’s nearer, and more convenient to go YTPS than KPS. Also, with 3 kids… I’ll prefer a school that’s more convenient to travel to, in case of rain, ECA, etc…

Which class is your girl in? Mine’s in 1I.

so how does your girl / you feel abt KPS?
my girl still wishes to go to her "dream" school - YTPS, but feedback seems to be getting "not so good", and KPS feedback seems good. so i’m in a dilema whether to change or not, esp I still hv 2 younger kids…

Think there wasn’t any change in classes for English. Don’t think the assessment during the orientation was for English class grouping.

KPS has higher chinese? The staff at Berries told me KPS has no higher chinese.

the spelling list is 6 per wk? words includes: hear robbers, green vintage car, walking through the jungle, aeroplane, etc?

they’ll be having a spelling test tmr… based on past weeks spelling lists…

think the student care at Yew Tee CC brings the kids to school, by foot. And only 1 auntie bringing abt 6-8. Always see them walking to school when I sent my #2 to CCKBC kindy.

my #2 just started Nursery there this year, so not much to advise.


just to let you know, as compared to PCF (PAP) kindy, CCKBC Kindy is only 3 hrs, throughout nursery to K2. And from what I see, actual teaching hours might be less… PCF nursery is 3 hrs, K1, K2 are 4 hrs.

However, I "think" there will be homework when they are in K1-K2, for PCF, there’s none (my elder gal studies at PCF kindy).

Swee Hai, I went to Agape but nursey 1 stop at 3 yrs old then after which u will need to attend cc to go to nursert 2 & kindergarten.

U can try CGM. think it's located near Keat Hong Camp or something.

huh? does that mean for a start, for maths and chinese they study in same class, then english period they change class?
