spikey:Hello, fellow Swiss Cottagian! From what I know, Swiss Cottage has merged with another school. It's now called Balestier Hill Primary.Well, the NDP parade commander this year also attended swiss cottage...shaynamommy:
:!: Finally found someone who attended Swiss Cottage! I missed the school and my husband asked me how come I cannot put my dd into my alumni. problem is I dunno where is the school now. It would have been a great backup plan for those of us living in Bukit Timah.

Yep. Called them in the evening last night and the lady was very helpful and patient. Quite unlike the admin staff from Pei Hwa.

dunno leh.... I find their cirriculum quite relax, which is the main reason why we opt for Keming over BTPS and PEPS
Actually if I didn't get selected for PV, it'll be a toss between BTPS and Keming. Keming holds its own in Bukit Batok area. If any kid can get into the top 2 classes, I pretty sure this sch will be watching their performance like a hawk. Not bad what.markfch:

Hot school...understandable.... but Keming? :?
The form teacher is also in our facebook. wahahaha[/quote]I heard it's not very demanding in Keming, but many of my neighbours appreciate the school's more 'guided' step-by-step approach. It seems that many of the 'hot' schools leave much of the teaching to tuition teachers - students are expected to already know stuff. At Keming, the topical tests seem to help get kids to learn quite well. Or at least so I heard.
Also, apparently, ALL the P2 kids this year get to learn violin, which I think is excellent for the kids - some who may not get the chance otherwise now have the opportunity to be exposed to the instrument and classical music (perhaps?).

RE: [Bukit Batok] Primary Schools
Just went to register DS at Keming and was told that Iβm the 80th applicant within 1km (for 78 vacancies). But the nice lady mentioned that there may be withdrawals, so hopefully, thereβs no need to ballot.
Really surprised at the overwhelming response this year at many schools! -
RE: Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary
Thanks so much for the info, 2bbtang!
Will be going for Keming then. -

Looks like my hope of getting ds into PH is almost dashed - we live within 2km...
Hi janet_lee88, thanks for your well wishes. Went to school to register this morning and queue no. given was 37. Told dh to relax as some may be >1km...the lady at registration desk told us most applicants are within 1km so far :!:janet_lee88:
Hi notabox,
All the best to you and parents registering in Pei Hwa for 2011.
So all we can do now is pray... in any case, went to BTPS open house and school environment is nice. Guess if really can't make it to PHPPS, BTPS will have to do.
wondering if we should go ahead and try our luck or go to Keming instead (within 1km). Or is Bukit Timah a better school than Keming? Any advice, fellow parents?

Hi, anyone have the details of how many of the sucessful children are from 1km and how many are from 1-2km for pei hwa 2b?
Tried asking the Pei Hwa staff but they refused to reveal...

RE: [Bukit Timah] Primary Schools
Thanks, janet_lee88!

So you think chances for Keming are slim even though we stay within 1km? Is it true that we'll have to apply for Keming/Bt Timah under Phase 2CSupp if we don't get into Pei Hwa under Phase 2C?
I'm wondering if Bt Timah Pri is better than Keming. Anyone has any thoughts/experience with these schools? -
RE: [Bukit Timah] Primary Schools
Hi, my boy is due to register for P1 next month or so, but Iβm rather clueless about where to apply. Our ideal choice is Pei Hwa but because weβre in the 1-2km category, chances are pretty slim. Should we still go for it? If we fail to get a place there, then should we go for Bukit Timah Primary(<2km) or Keming Primary(<1km)?
